The incredulous self-righteousness of Gerry Brownlee, Amy Adams, Paula Bennett and Bill English

Put aside the true horror of how National gutted our social infrastructure and implemented draconian welfare reforms to pay for tax cuts that kept their speculative property bubble building from cheap mass immigration  to make the growth numbers look good.

Forget the Housing failure, the homelessness failure, the health service failure, the education failure, the prison failure, the transport failure, the environmental failure, the social issues failure and the infrastructure failure, just look at the current incredulous self-righteousness being spouted by National over the last week.

Gerry Brownlee attacks Jacinda for having the guts to stand up to Australia and demands that we just look the other way while human rights are abused on Manus Island.

Amy Adams unbelievably demands MORE prisoners go to jail and not less.

Paula Bennett dares preach about KidsCan funding when her Government did so little to heal poverty.

And Bill English has the audacity of complaining about removing the word ‘vulnerable’ from the Children’s Ministry because his neoliberal version of welfare differentiates between Children in need from Children in danger so as to dismantle universal provision of welfare in favour of targeted welfare.

These people spent 9 years ruining the country and have the gall to complain about the new Government trying to fix their mess.

    • Yes – we are the ones who are incredulous at the incredible (=unbelievable) self-righteousness. Not the best of headlines…
      Otherwise – spot on.

  1. Now that the election 2017 is well and truly over I bet not once has Blll English bothered to go back to the various lower socio-economic areas he visited in the hope of gaining votes(and selfies in front of the tv cameras).
He probably wouldn’t want to be seen shaking hands with the great unwashed(as one avid National Party supporter often said to me when it came to National MPs going out amongst the masses in the lead up to an election).
Bil English and co are a perfect example of an opportunistic and self-serving group of people who cared more for what they could get out of something(called the NZ taxpayers)for themselves than what they would(if they truly wanted to)give to the country.
The deemed themselves above all others and that ALL NZers would take their words as absolute Gospel. Arrogance has created a political party(called National)that is grossly out of touch with reality.

National do not contain an ounce of credibility, responsibility and accountability. But now they are consigned to the Opposition they will paint themselves as being as pure as the driven snow and nothing was EVER THEIR MISTAKE.
If National ever want to be serious contenders in any future election they need to remove the old guard of arrogance that has soaked through-out that Party. And I mean the old guard being English, Brownlee, Collins, Nick Smith, Bennett, Adams. etc.etc.etc.

  2. English also spouts that Labour are hiding behind the ombudsman in regard not releasing the coalition agreement between Labour and NZ First. Here’s an idea Bill, let’s first here what was on the John Key and John Banks teapot tape, oh but no, JK hid behind the police on that issue. Bill you were a very poor short term P.M. and an even more pathetic opposition leader. Now, what were in those 450 texts you sent again, oh that’s right you also hid behind the police!
