And now the filthy Pigs attack medicinal cannabis users…

Medical cannabis advocate Rose Renton in Nelson court on drug charges

Medicinal cannabis advocate Rose Renton appeared in the Nelson District Court this morning on three charges of possessing and supplying a Class B drug, namely Cannabidiol, as well as cultivating a cannabis plant.

It being her first appearance in court, Renton entered no plea.

The maximum penalty of the charges range from seven to 14 years’ imprisonment.

The 44-year-old’s lawyer, Sue Grey, described Renton as “another Green Fairy”, helping hospice patients and others with chronic pain.

“The recent prosecution of at least three Green Fairies by the NZ Police is a tragedy for hundreds of sick and dying New Zealanders and their caregivers as their medicine has been seized by police.” Ms Grey said.

…100 000 NZers using medical cannabis are dependent on the underground Green Cross organisations that have sprung up all over NZ and this move followed by other recent prosecutions against Green Cross activists is putting pressure on their ability to help desperate people.

When our gutless and spineless Politicians pathetically open their mouths on medicinal cannabis they give us weasel words about change and nod their cowardly heads at our collective outrage. They attempt to tell us that Police don’t target individual users and that only organised crime gets a focus, yet here we have medicinal networks getting attacked.

These filthy pigs would have arrested Helen Kelly if they thought they could get away with it.

It is time that we rip the power out of Police hands and demand cannabis reforms.

Do we really want cancer patients AIDS patients and people suffering from extreme pain to suffer even more because they can’t smoke a joint?

What sort of spiteful country have we become?

  1. You will find it isn’t general beat cops that are the problem, the beat cops see the problems alcohol is causing every day and some wish the law was changed to reduce that level of harm.

The problem lays with the drug squad. They stand to lose some serious toys if cannabis were legal, along with the removal of their revenue stream via the Proceeds of Crime Act.
    Those narcissists just don’t care.
If you want to blame anybody besides Peter Dunne for synthetics, its the drug squad for targeting cannabis.

    • Martyn, why not take Rose Renton into your home or help her go into hiding so the cops can’t find her?

Rose Renton , in my books did not commit a crime, so why the hell should she appear in court? I’m sure lots of kiwis would be willing to hide her from the law.

  2. at some point the legal system has turned into the ” justice industry” and the major players are reluctant to let go of their cash cow. the whole thing stinks and it is time for new zealand to grow up.

New Zealand First MPs have wrapped up an all-day caucus meeting at Parliament, as they decide whether to form a government with National or Labour.

The meeting started at 9.30am and continued all day.

As he left the meeting tonight, New Zealand First MP Ron Mark told reporters it would be a little bit longer.

  5. “What sort of spiteful country have we become?”

NZ’s always been a spiteful country.

If we don’t want the cops to bust people for weed offences we must force politicians to change the law. Expecting cops to be ‘ discretionary’ is wandering about on a slippery slope.
If a cop, for example, saw you getting bashed for your wallet on the footpath? I have to ask how useful might that cops discretion be in deciding to just watch on rather than be duty bound to act to help you out?
Discretion, where weed’s concerned, is a luxury, not an entitlement. It would pay to remember that because to assume otherwise will not achieve positive law changes and the cops will become even more hateful, and spiteful.
Now that, that fucking moron dunne’s gone maybe a new government might be more approachable to discuss law changes with.
A very worrying thing for me would be that the cops are lobbying government to NOT decriminalise weed to protect their own funny little fascist beliefs.
What do cops think about decriminalising weed? Has anybody asked them? If one could get cops per se to support decriminalisation then politicians would be forced to take notice surely?

  6. ‘Legalize cannabis now or face mental health crisis, warns drug think-tank’

    https://www.rt.com/uk/407071-legalize-cannabis-mental-health/

“Britain should legalize cannabis to prevent a mental health crisis, a leading drugs think-tank has said. It argues the substance should be legalized to protect people from more dangerous, high potency cannabis found on the black market.

According to the study, carried out by VolteFace magazine in association with Manchester Metropolitan University and King’s College London, the government must stop surrendering its drugs policy to criminals…

The report said the current system, which amounts to “strict illegality but patchy enforcement,” should be replaced with a tightly regulated market to prevent harmful forms of the drug being sold.

Medical marijuana patient Aaron Nacci, who uses cannabis for the treatment of anxiety and depression, told RT it is “vital” for him the drug is legalized.

Nacci, who tried both alcohol and anti-depressants before turning to cannabis, spoke about the beneficial effects the drug has had on him and said: “My depression went and I was able to calm my anxious overactive mind. The anxiety disorder was confirmed at around the same time.

“My physical and mental health dramatically improved and I haven’t looked back since,” he told RT…
