1. Here is some REAL news to take note of:

   ‘Benefit fraud procedure changed following suicide’

   What MSD had as performance TARGETS before:
   “The investigator, whose name is suppressed, said investigators were required to “get” one prosecution a month over a year and recover $30,000 of debt a month. Investigators had to clear four cases a month and if they didn’t meet their performance targets they were put on performance management.

   In its evidence, the MSD said there was an expectation that investigators would clear about four cases a month, but “KPIs [key performance indicators] that related to the number of prosecutions and the number of clearances and … people were assessed over the course of a year and the expectation was at least one prosecution on average (per month).” ”

   Now, this is what has been going on on the ‘welfare coal face’, for those that think this is stuff not deserving priority treatment and attention, that is by a new government!!!

   • Also remember, MSD used alias names for their representatives and those presenting evidence to Benefit Review Committees:

     BS talk about ‘threats’ and ‘potential risks’ from beneficiaries who dared appeal decisions, does anybody still believe MSD and its CE and managers and low rank underlings?

     For them it is ok to break the law, but if a beneficiary gives false info, hell breaks loose, they will be chased before the courts and can pay for years to come, whether sick, invalid, disabled or poor parent looking after hungry kids.

     Now they want to appeal that decision, what audacity, but it is their right, I understand. Let us follow this story.

     It must also be stuff a new government needs to address, such practices, within MSD.

2. It concerns me that Trump’s man in NZ..the US ambassador (wotsisname?) is trying to import Trump’s paranoia over North Korea into New Zealand..perhaps softening up Kiwis prior to a request for military help in case of US military action against Kim wotsisname. I’d prefer a Labour/Green/NZ1st (i.e a Helen Clark) response if that were the case.

3. Must be a while since you’ve seen a republican. They’re all armed. All 3 million members. Not much to say about it really. Bit like reason with Gomer Pyle after hazing incident.

4. Probably yet more cows (consider), and definitely more people, if current trends continue, New Zealand to reach over 6 million in about 20 years time, ‘Asians’ (not further defined) to outnumber Maoris, that is what Stats NZ published today, as their projection:

   The Māori population is projected to surpass 1 million by 2038, with growth in all regions.

   New Zealand’s total population is projected to grow from 4.4 million in 2013 to 5.2–6.3 million in 2038. Auckland region’s population is projected to exceed 2 million in the early 2030s, up from 1.5 million in 2013. ”

   Few seem to be worried, given the election results, so prepare for Mandarin to become an official language in what will by then once have been called ‘Aotearoa NZ’.
