Are Cameron Slater & Simon Lusk advising NZ First?

The tip line is running hot with rumours that right wing strategists and Dirty Politics hate speech merchants Cameron Slater and Simon Lusk are helping advise the NZ First campaign.

If true, that means NZ First are seriously considering National as a coalition partner and not Labour.

When you consider the naked racism behind abolishing the Maori electorates and Winston’s weird double down on it when other advisors were trying to talk him away from the idea, it would make sense if Lusk and Slater were advising.

Journalists need to put this to Winston immediately.

  1. I can’t see how NZ First will have any options other than coalition with National if a referendum on removing the Maori seats is one of their core election platforms. A vote of NZ First is a vote for National and this needs to be pushed by the Greens and Labour as much as possible.

  2. OMG ! Soooo surprised ! Like … Wow ! Who’d a thunk it? Not me, that’s for sure. Well, I never… I never would a thought it ? Huh ? Just goes to show…
Could knock me down with a feather.

  3. This seems really unlikely to me. I know Slater fucking loathes Bill English, blames him for basically every thwarted ambition of his father and no doubt for many of his own. But a political survivor like Winston would surely be smart enough to know that they could only be offering him their ‘help’ to ensure the destruction of Bill English in order to facilitate the post-election ascent of Judith Collins.

In what way would Winston’s policies on immigration, banking, foreign investment, housing, etc. dovetail with the sort of interests represented by Simon Lusk? How would Oravida benefit from 3 years of Winston? Seems to me like something they cooked up and set to the rumour mill to try and widen the NZF-Green divide and get the left wavering. Far more for Lusk and Slater to gain there.

Exactly. Peters is in essence a nationalist. The people named apart from him are neo liberals and almost certainly globalists.

The two ideologies are inherently incompatible.

That does not stop there being a coalition between the two, – but it does mean there will always be constant friction.

And I also believe that taking on the articles assumptions is only seeing a very simplistic view… Peters is playing the long game and it will not matter if he partners with either Labour or National this election. He has both party’s , – and both the Blairite Left and the neo liberal Right , – by the scruff of the neck.

And , because of the volatility of the coming election , and the fear from both National and Labour ,… Peters can play one off against the other.

Peters remains , … as always ,… one of the most brilliant short term tacticians and long term strategists we have ever had in modern political history.

  4. Hooton also seemed to have advance knowledge of that UMR poll that NZ First commissioned and then leaked. Something dodgy going on.

    • Let’s not forget that Winston went wild with that poll to paper over the Roy Morgan that week which put Labour 5% up and had NZF down to 8%. Changing the subject to that UMR makes far more sense, and given that the press could talk about it as a ‘leaked’ poll rather than just a standard public facing periodical like the RM, it was always going to be sexier news.

  5. Not. Surprised. One. Bit.

NZ first is rapidly devolving into a Trumpist party with neo-fascist, alt-right tendencies. Reading some of the alt-right crap from some NZF supporters on this forum supports that.

  6. Time to get off that wed a think…………..

When you want to that Green Party Conference you are not thinking right!

Did those Greens give you some Swaziland grass???

Watch that stuff as it knocks the brain sideways.

I will check the site next week and see if you are thinking clearly.

  7. Off topic but to call Slater and Lusk “strategists” is a very generous use of that term.

  8. The globalists are going to get slaughtered in NZ Wars II. Take a look at the proportions and the trends and extrapolate on them; No Zealand is the proverbial canary in the mine shaft.

  9. I would doubt that Winston and NZF are taking advice from Slater and Lusk, if it was exposed it would be like a poisoned chalice.

I think Winston and NZF would stay well clear of the duo Slater and Lusk, he wouldn’t touch them with a 40 foot barge pole.
