Keep the hat son, you’ll be seeing a lot more like them.

Bad news for Bill English, the National Party Board member who threatened and bullied the staff member Todd Barclay secretly recorded will now be investigated by the NZ Police

Police are now investigating National Party board member Glenda Hughes over her role in the Todd Barclay saga, Newshub has learned.

Police re-opened their investigation after it emerged Barclay had secretly recorded one of his staff members, Glenys Dickson.

It was widely reported at the time that Ms Dickson claimed to have been contacted by Ms Hughes, who allegedly told her that a police complaint would only cause problems for the National Government. Ms Hughes also allegedly said if Ms Dickson withdrew the complaint, police would not have a case.

…bullying and threatening someone into not going to the Police to report a crime is pretty sleazy, but this is the National Party right? This is how they operate when thy don’t think anyone is looking.

If you are still voting National this election after all their abuses of power over the last 9 years, then you are the problem.

  1. Apparently someone on Reddit asked Tory voters for their motives.
I’d really like to see a similar thing here, though not just “for the economy” type answers, maybe a one paragraph minimum.
    It would be fascinating.
Especially as the National voters I know are clearly, and inexplicably, voting against their own best interests.
Just as importantly, it could be followed up with a “Why don’t you vote” survey, which I’ll happily respond to, being one of those naysayers who has only voted twice in 30 something years.

      • I’ve heard all the arguments for not voting is a bad thing, but I do not agree, it’s just a thing, it’s a part of the political process. You are not a better person because you vote Katie. Siobhan is as entitled to her opinion and right to choose as you are. Why not just share your opinion instead of judging Siobhan for hers?

    • I might vote Ban1080
Just to let the bastards know some of us do give a fuck, but more for the critters than the utter bullshit spouted by ALL political parties
They are just not worth leaving the house for, a bunch of lyers to a man
Fuck them, and all their children

  2. “If you are still voting National this election after all their abuses of power over the last 9 years, then you are the problem.”

    – Sums it up nicely!

  3. National = destruction of our NZ society – is the closest motive they have now proven to hold.

They have wrecked our water and land, with toxic chemicals already.

So there’s not much more they can wreck, unless they set on fire all our cities!

Oh wait! yes they are already doing this with there trucks/roads policy over destruction of our rail which will greatly increase our carbon emissions and burn the planet up so we are heading for destruction alright.

  4. In conversation with Natz voters (when they actually confess their support), it never ceases to amaze me how, without fail, they are completely ignorant of the facts associated with their political choice.
When confronted with some of the home truths, they inevitably spout back a mindless party slogan or some other trite comment.
Orwell was spot on with his vision of the future it seems.
    God(s) help us.

    • I think people ‘care’ about corruption alright. It’s just that it’s extremely difficult to express that ‘care’. If one’s pissed off at yankee doodle psycho jonky-stien for example? Then who, where, and what does one do about it? Write an angry letter to the news paper? Stand on a street corner and shout about it? Come here and write about it? I prefer graffiti myself.
It’s too easy to say that no one cares because no one can do much about it. Then, ‘they’, the crooks and swine can say ” Clearly, no one gives a fuck because no one’s doing anything about us so whoo hoo ! Lets go crazy! ? ”

It’s a wee bit of a head fuck I think and we should be careful of the language we use to describe a situation that’s left people thinking they’re powerless to truly express their opinions about what they care, or don’t care about. After all, isn’t that why the crooks and con artists came after the MSM? Isn’t that why 800,000 people never voted? Isn’t that why you sit there now, instead of rioting in the streets? Isn’t it because they’ve convinced you, via the msm they now own, that no one else gives a fuck?

      • I care Countryboy. I’m talking of the 100’s of 1000’s of sleepy hobbits whom are now so disillusioned that we lost against the Lions, they may vote for the opposition in revolt, that is just the way kiwi brains think. People care more about rugby results in this country, more than corruption, so I stand by my statement, with a little retraction, large numbers don’t care. What can we do about it, we vote.

  5. PREDICTION ALERT

Another whitewash by the Police nothing to see here and buried before the election.

A total non starter and will not stop a fourth term National government.

The rule of law has been bought and sold and BIG MONEY and the National party / police protect and control New Zealand.

The National party IS ABOVE THE LAW and kiwis will VOTE for it.

    • No National are not above the law
They can always get another law or change one that they disagree with.It is part of their entitlement to be in charge!

  6. I have more belief in the basic goodness of people. I’m a glass “half full” person, and believe a number of people will vote for change this time.

Many people confronted with the suicide stats alone will be moved.

Teachers and parents see the failure of false “standards”.

The degradation of water and “change the law attitude of the govt.”

The shrill reaction to reasonable work place conditions.

Please use the gift people died to give you, and VOTE.

Bad things happen when good people stand by and don’t react.

  7. inside my main gripes with the NZ National Government are two which I refer;
    1. The Prime Minister became a ‘ liar WRT Cave Creek. He knows he lied and so do I.

    2. Nic Smith and waddeable rivers in twenty years. Smith , the ‘
    ‘ Nonspeaksmith .’
