Government demands arrest of Russel Norman

This is disgraceful, our own bloody Government is attempting to charge Russel Norman for protesting against more deep sea oil exploration.

This is part of new laws the National Party passed to arrest anyone daring to protest against the oil companies at sea.

When the Government can arrest former leaders of political parties using trumped up laws they passed to enable the oil companies to get a free pass from protestors, you know they have gone way too far to protect corporate interests over the rights of citizens.

Fuck this Government!

  1. Fuck this government x1000!

Go Russel Norman speak up for democracy!

Go Andrew Little speak up for democracy in court against fuckers !

Natz want to prosecute freedom of speech and protest – what a great use of police and justice resources, NOT!

I guess the government want the police to give up on keeping the public safe and instead keep the offshore business monetary interest safe with our tax payer funded police resources.

Anyone else think there is a relationship between seismic blasting for oil and earthquakes?

Personally I don’t want to take the change.

  2. FUCK ! The wankers that pretend they’re our politicians and who then masquerade as our government. Worthless, yet costly, scumbags! Fuck them indeed!
With the exception of paula bennett, Russel Norman’s got bigger balls than the lot of the useless, greedy, cowardly, pricks.

    • 100% right on! I despair we are spiralling down into a shit hole pit dug out for us by the NATzis. Key wasn’t up to SS standards he shit out when the going got tough. The remaining scum though are still zombie like going through their pathetic motions! Loud vomiting in toilet.

  3. Get this into the international media…. BBC, Guardian. New Zealand is simply becoming an ugly country for those with no values, and no mind.

New Zealand minister challenged to fight over dirty water – BBC News

Mar 24, 2017 – … fight over dirty water. By News from Elsewhere… …as found by BBC Monitoring … New Zealand’s environment minister has been challenged to a fist fight by a conservationist over the government’s “swimmable rivers” policy.

  4. So Natz policy is to silence those who speak out against the rape and pillage of the natural environment for profit.

Natz dirty business obviously taking priority over principle again!

Good for Russel Norman for bringing this issue to public attention and keeping it out there. NZ needs more people of his calibre.

I will contribute to any credible fund set up to help Russel finance any legal costs should any arise.

  5. ‘I guess the government want the police to give up on keeping the public safe and instead keep the offshore business monetary interest safe with our tax payer funded police resources.’
The police are not working to keep the public safe, they are mere stooges of a crooked government. I am a conservationist who was living within a scenic reserve, which is now overrun by deranged feral bogans- who are actually dangerous – and the police let them run riot, despite quite a few requesting police assistance. Many residents have been run out of the place and the houses are now worth nothing. The police let them trash my property, not once but twice. So I left the country and my house,as I am not safe. The police will not charge these men for their numerous criminal offences I have filed complaints to the HRC overseas in Europe. It appears that NZ is getting recognised for human and civil rights abuses.

  6. Will be so glad to see the back of this corrupt, treasonist government.
Go Russell – you have my support and money if needed.

  7. ” Corporate interests over the rights of citizens ” is exactly what this is all about Martyn.

Once again the laws this regime have passed rather innocuously are being enforced to suffocate our rights and in particular our right to protest in our own waters.

Russell and the crew of Taitua deserve credit for the stand they have made here and should be supported in this confrontation by sovereign law NOT arrest and possible conviction in the name of Nat corp.

  8. Bring it on. The government will wish they had never brought charges, if in fact they do. ‘Twill be a PR black eye for the goverment and big oil. Good on Russell Norman and his protesting companions (and Greenpeace) for putting themselves on the line, for allo of us. Respect.

  9. So, daring to exercise your (former) democratic right to protest results in this, eh?
Russel, take that charging document, roll it up into a nice tight little tube, go and find Simon Bridges, and shove it up his arse.

  10. One recent observation in regards to this feeble excuse of a government and that is they had absolutely no hesitation in allocating $26million of NZ taxpayers money towards a piece of cloth that John Key wanted. The ‘Flag Referendum of 2016′ proved to many just how self-absorbed and selfish this government is.
In recent weeks we have been told that it may require $26million to save the Maui dolphins. All of a sudden this money(for saving the Maui dolphins)is not available.
And so we have it. There was THAT money available for a John Key Flag Referendum but NO money available for saving dolphins?
That shows how shallow and selfish this government is.
No creature on the seas is safe where the actions and antics of the current NZ National government are concerned.
Whilst he was pm of NZ John Key regularly disparaged NZers. Perhaps his attitude was an indication of his complete hatred of NZ and NZers. He preferred to waste alot of money on a piece of cloth. And whenever say 50,000 NZers protestors took to the streets especially in regards to the TPPA he referred to the protestors as “rent a protestor’. That showed to me and probably many other NZers how shallow he was right from the start of his career as a politician.
Russell Norman has done the right thing in regards to protesting. But in response we have a weak and gutless government who cares less about the environment whilst probably lining their own pockets in various business transactions.
We should all know by now that not one MP in the National Coalition government does anything in favour of NZ and NZers. They will ONLY do something in the hope of getting some financial kickback out of the transaction into their very own bank accounts and egos.

    • “They will ONLY do something in the hope of getting some financial kickback out of the transaction into their very own bank accounts and egos.”

And that, Justme, is the definition of corruption.

  11. Given the many many chickens coming home to roost for this Govt, its corruption, ongoing corruption, coverup of war crimes, further support of war crimes. Calling to support USA in initiating WW3. Its time to disband Govt.

  12. Damn this is cynical and fascist to the core. Why do we even try to pretend we live by a democratic ethos when our leaders operate in such a way. Our country is slipping away from us and our government is completely responsible for the slip.

  13. Well, this was of course to be expected, when they brought in the 500m rule for protests at sea. Russel will have ignored it, I suspect, trying to make a point.

He is following in the footsteps of Sue Bradford, for environmental purposes, I presume. Get arrested and get great media and public attention. It is us to take sides, with Russel, against the government, as some will of course love to take sides against him and Greenpeace.

Taitu, a well named vessel, took him and others there.

  14. Wrong Martin, Wussel Norman was arrested for interfering the operations of a ship that was going about its lawful business. He could still protest against the ship but not get within 500 meters of it, big difference!

Note also the picture of him wearing a helmet, life jacket, wetsuit and he is attached to a buoy all of which are made from products of the petroleum industry. If he wants to protest the petroleum industry he could first boycott all its products and see how much his quality of life declines.

    • Always the same story, “if you dont like this corrupt planet destruction why don’t live in a cave naked and shut up so we can get on with our short sighted greedy games” …………….. Piss off mate ….. go Russell.

  15. What a pity the ship managed to avoid threse clowns. Has anyone bothered to think through the results of stopping oil production at the moment. Here is a chance for NZ to get some money from it’s resources and use them to further the investigation and production of clean fuel for the future. Oh, and Norman, I like the plastic helmet, buoy, lifejacket etc. All made from oil. And I would guess that your little boat uses truckfulls of it too.

  16. Martyn – yet again you are writing with straight forward pin point clarity.

Other Blogs – such as “The Standard Org” on a good day are just a tangled spaghetti of unclear trolls spouting and flipping pettifogging issues.

Our Government is the captive of sickening wealthy fools. Our Government has no idea that fossil Oil like Coal (per C02) is a killer. Our Government is delighted that they are getting huge donations from the idiot wealthy classes.

Just as they love getting big donations from apparently “innocent” farmers for the right to flood every run off, every little creek with fecal cow shit; and every little rivulet with nitrate and every great NZ River with full scale toxin.

Billy English is “gunna” fix it he says, in the year 2043. It would be sooner. But he is up the Ass of his wealthy mates. And he can’t get down. While he’s up there, he will give them tax cuts. To starve the poor.

The once promising National Party for the sake of money has sucked itself up the unwholesome Ass of the ignorant wealthy.

Capitalism worldwide has become the Asshole of Human existence.

I suggest Martyn that in every town large and small, ceramic plaques be put up on walls naming the very men and women who deny the death of our environment – so that present and future generations will know whom to blame for this colossal evil destruction.

Thank God for Russell Norman. Bill English and his Paula and Act and the other hangers on, are part of the Yuck. And they know it.

  17. Interesting read, I think, from Covert Geopolitics, pointing out that fossil-based energies are yesterday’s technologies.
    https://geopolitics.co/2017/04/05/noble-energys-natural-gas-discovery-launched-us-israeli-operation-isis-to-overthrow-assad/
There are unreported/under-reported in MSM of oil spills worldwide killing the oceans and wild life. In your face protests such as these will highlight the ongoing destruction of the planet by greedy corporations and sellout governments. Of course, our government is just a proxy for “the Crown”/NWO so no sellout here just same old same old.

  18. There seems to be correlations to oil company extraction processes and human induced earthquakes.

And also data to suggest that it is harmful to marine life.

  19. … And Key did mention that Christchurch was a ‘man made earthquake’ TWICE – on camera – oops a daisy.
Now why would he even say that….nothing to see here, move along.

  20. I hope he and Greenpeace see face legal action to recover the cost.

Norman is just grandstanding trying to get his irrelevant face in the media.
