Dear Readers

It’s been a hell of a year, National have rampaged, the Opposition have barely looked credible and the mainstream media lost most of their critical voices – I think we can all agree we need a drink!

2016 will see brand new features and a brave new frontier for progressive media on The Daily Blog but before we get there, we need to see this year out.

TDB will be holding our end of year drinks at IKA Tuesday night (tomorrow) from 5.30pm. Most of our bloggers and invited friends will be there and you can come join us. It will be politics late into the night with all the plotting and gossip that comes with it.

  1. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone at The Daily Blog and thanks for all your work in 2015. May the universe work in our favour in 2016.

  2. Hey what’s with all the negative thumbs down to this blog?

Lighten up for goodness sake and get with the spirit of the season.

If you can’t do that, then go away and enjoy the nasty little right wing rabid blog sites more to your taste.

    • My guess is it’s FWit readers from the likes of Whale Oil, who have such pathetically sad lives, the best thing they can do with their time is go websites they don’t like and thumbs down everything.

    • I agree with you completely ! We have enough negative energy going around our political and social scene and we need less nasty folks and more positive problem solving ideas and people who speak out and question more.

There are some exceptional people offering some great writing here and when I see all the negative ticks, I wonder why all those negative Natz loving crazies don’t spend more time watching the Herald and Stuff and Channel 1 and 3. It seems more their speed and style – Info-tainment propaganda machines not worth our attention or even our thinking about them.

Have you heard or read any of the new magazine entitled ” YES ” that comes out of the states. A very positive and uplifting and very rare magazine that gives us hope and a feel good moment in the journalistic nightmare we seem to be swimming in now almost everywhere we go.

Thank you to TDB for all you work in keeping a place available for open sharing and honest communication worth checking out. Let us not take all the negative ticks seriously when we consider the source and the negative and judgmental place that they mostly come from. Like water off our backs, they are not worth it and they are so out of touch and brainwashed that we should pay them no attention in the coming new year.
Happy Holidays to all of you and lets hope for more joy and peace in 2016.

  3. Ho hum I will be celebrating with the critters from the Pet Cemetery out here in farmer land.
(The Daily Blog will be pleased to know that most of the workers in my industry are immigrants employed as contractors with no labour protections.)

  4. I think we might need more than one drink.
All credit to the terrific people behind TDB
It has indeed been a tough year but just remember: When the going gets tough, the tough keep going.

  5. the Opposition have barely looked credible

…We have an Opposition?? Here’s a toast to them actually opposing National’s toxic policies next year instead of equivocating for fear of frightening the non-existent median voter. Bottom’s up!

And a merry Christmas to TDB and contributors. Yes, even the trolls – you know who you are.
