  1. Love the hysterical rants of imminent terror attack with the ‘softer’ deflection from Spying and War to the golden standby in NZ – property and property prices and sports articles.

    • Are all the Herald articles on spying etc actually helping the Nats? If that’s the case then the sooner they stop the better.

  2. Again on the propaganda stakes from the Granddaddy Herald…

Last night the article “Support for the Nats” the Herald had a picture of JK and Mark Osborne together, now taken down and replaced by Winston.

JK minions do not want Brand Key associated with that debacle.

No wonder the figures are so good for JK, the MSM are full time campaign managers to the Nats especially the Herald!

  3. Scaremongering.

Let us be honest about the realities of terrorism and New Zealand. Without totally and – perhaps irrationally – discounting the threat, why are we considered one of the safer countries in the world? Why are we considered one of the more responsible countries in the world?

The answer all comes down to this:

We are a nation that has generally played its cards on the international stage in a respectable nation, have tried to be fair in our dealings and respected the sovereignty of other nations whilst maintaining that we abhor human rights abuses and other breaches of international law.

Why do the media and the Government now consider a threat to exist? Perhaps it is time to have a look at their agenda. Perhaps it is time to look at why people don’t want New Zealand involvement in foreign wars that are of little benefit to us or what we stand for.

I am very proud as a New Zealander to live in a country that tries for the most part to abide by international law and be a respectable member of the international community. I absolutely believe a small island nation should not behave in a reckless or cavalier way on the world stage. I also just as absolutely believe we should not not be engaging in the politics of fear, creating enemies to make the public believe there is a threat in order to make them believe in the policies of the fearmongers.

And rather than call asylum seekers and refugees who have been to Hell and back, threats, lets try to understand why the heck they choose to come out to New Zealand. We just might learn something.

And on A.N.Z.A.C. Day if you find yourself standing next to someone at a service not from New Zealand who has come out to pay respect, be grateful they are making the effort to learn.

  4. More corruption, the ports of auckland are going ahead, Fuck consultation there is money to be made! Someone might find out, it is not the legal done deal they would have you believe.

It pretty clear the Auckland Council are a bunch of idiotic muppets, they don’t even bother selling off our assets, they just give them away!

All run through the council resource consents department – no matter how bad the development the answer if always YES, just give us FEEs and we will grant ANYTHING.

Ring a ding, Auckland council CEO and councillors – your resource consents department is out of control and your Ports of Auckland are out of Control!

Are you too lazy to do anything? The ports of Auckland board are giving you, and the rest of Auckland, and Maori and indeed the country the finger.

    The harbour is public ownership.

    STOP STEALING OUR HARBOUR

  5. So here we are Monday April 20 and nothing in msm anywhere about the “prominent NZer’s” court case! Looked everywhere for it, but it’s not even buried at the bottom of a page. Same with radio. Zilch!

I can guarantee if this was someone connected to Labour, Greens or NZ First, the headlines in every msm source would be screaming the issue!

So where is it? Being covered up, like the rest of the hidden dirt being kept in the dark?

Or will it only be reported when Key leaves for Gallipoli at the end of this week, so he doesn’t have to immediately answer some pressing questions on the issue?

  6. Ports of Auckland has been ordered to pay $40,000 for deliberately breaking the law by employing contractors during industrial action at the port.

The Employment Relations Authority ruled that Ports of Auckland Ltd (POAL) broke the law in February and March when they employed an engineer from overseas at a cost of $10,000 a week to do the work of striking Maritime Union members.

It also illegally used local contractors to carry out engineering work.

At the time union members were on strike and locked out in their battle to stop management contracting out their jobs.

In a decision released yesterday, authority member Anna Fitzgibbon said the port had made “calculated decisions” to break the law.
