You can’t have crisis without ISIS

So the new scary bogeyman ISIS might have chemical weapons that the US secretly found in Iraq, but America didn’t want to expose this find because the WMDs were actually built and made by the US and Europe, the two powers wanting to invade Iraq for Weapons of Mass Destruction…

all the chemical weapons found by soldiers had been made before 1991, the Times reported. They were mostly 155mm artillery shells or 122mm rockets, not designed for mass destruction, and produced in the 1980s during the Iran-Iraq war.

According to the Times, these reports were embarrassing for the Pentagon because, in five of the six incidents in which troops were wounded by chemical agents, the munitions appeared to have been “designed in the US, manufactured in Europe and filled in chemical agent production lines built in Iraq by Western companies”.

…it wouldn’t look good for us in the West if the trumped up reasons for invasion turned out to be chemical weapons we had already sold Saddam.

So if we are to believe this new convenient narrative, the US found self made weapons of mass destruction, hid the fact they found them, left them in Iraq and the areas they left them in just happen to be now taken over by ISIS. The subtext being that ISIS might now have weapons of mass destruction, so we best not hesitate to re-invade Iraq.

So to sum up. The US claimed Iraq had weapons of mass destruction and invaded Iraq on that pretence. They found weapons of mass destruction, but they turned out to have been made by America and sold to Saddam, the US hide this and leave the WMDs in Iraq and now a more radical and angry mob of reactionary fighters might have over run those positions and may no have those WMDs.

In terms of self mutilation as foreign policy, it doesn’t get much better than this. It’s a chemical plague on all their houses.

We should have nothing to do with this madness that Key has signed us up to.

  1. Let’s see if I understand this, the US government has supposedly been lying to the world public for the last decade. First they claimed there were WMD’s in Iraq, then they went on to say, actually, we haven’t found any, and took the enormous amount of criticism for that because the weapons were actually made by the US and some European companies. But, now that the presence of chemical weapons will serve as a useful fear-mongering tool to rally the troops for another invasion they’re willing to tell the world about it!

Quite frankly if the US Government was an individual I would want nothing to do with their two-faced, lying, corrupt practices and would want them criminally prosecuted. Sadly there are plenty of people with 1 minute attention spans who will go, “WMD?! OMG!? We’ve got to invade!!”

Let’s make it our duty to point out the hypocrisy and dishonest nature of those spreading this disinformation to those who are too busy, distracted or lacking in critical thinking skills to see the problem.

  2. Hi,

This makes absolutely no sense. That Iraq might have had such weapons I can accept. That Bush II, being publically ridiculed at home and across the world for not having found these WMD’s and desperate to find evidence of them, then fails to show them when they’re found even if they are not of the right sort and potentially implicate the USA, is insane.

In any case the Herald says they were destroyed, which means ISIS / ISIL can’t have them.

    Cheers, Greg.

  3. Just more hypocrisy from America. ISIS is made up of US trained fighters they use US weapons, either supplied to “moderate” rebels or captured from the Iraqi army and their super dramatic HD beheading videos play right into the hands of western politicians and military leaders who wish to control their populations by fear. The downing of MH17 was the moment of clarity for me as to the believability and duplicity of these people.
They want war and will do whatever it takes to get it.
