Before we all start the canonisation of Matthew Hooton, let’s consider some home truths here shall we? While the Wellington Ruminator Blog, the blog who was previously mates with Judith Collins, now seems to have a crush on Matthew Hooton…

…I think such devotion is a tad misplaced.

Let us not forget that Hooton has called Nicky Hager a “Communist C**t” on Twitter and when Cathy Odgers was begging to have Hager’s address published, who gave it to her?

Perhaps the good people at Ruminator haven’t read that far into Dirty Politics? I’m not sure plotting organised hits on Nicky Hager by Chinese crime lords raises Hoots to praise worthy just yet.

We all love a right winger saying the things us lefties want to hear, and so we have been gleeful to grasp onto Hooton’s current statements on why the PM is so screwed, but let’s look beyond hearing what we want to hear and understand what Hooton is doing. He knows and he understands that what Key has done over the SIS briefing is far more serious than the mainstream media have managed to comprehend and the checks and balances now kicking in mean Key either admits he has lied or he throws his chief of staff under the bus.

Hooton understands that and is now busy positioning within National the new leadership challengers Key will face post the election. It is in Hooton’s interests to sow mayhem inside the National Party ranks to build support for his candidate Simon Bridges while quietly ignoring things like providing Odgers with Hager’s address.

Hooton is smart. Not genuine. That might be praise worthy on Ruminator Blog, but it ain’t here.

  1. Cunning rather than smart, I think.

It’s interesting to watch a political chess player at work, thinking several moves ahead and working to a pattern concealed in his head. Bluff, subterfuge, shock and awe… all for a purpose months or years away.

Just another reason to stay away from all whom he might influence.

      • There’s no “I” in #teamkey. They’re all as rotten to the core as each other, standing there pointing at each other, blaming the other for being disloyal to the party, or blaming Hager for outing their filth and machiavellianism. FFS what about being disloyal to New Zealand and the voters? What about tearing down democracy? WTF do you all think you are?

Oh – I forgot your mantra “Don’t you know who I am? Gilmore was expelled for actually breaching the code of unspoken arrogance and entitlement.

Roll on September the 15th, then 5 day s later, September 20th, better labelled as Clear out Corruption day, instead of Election Day.

  2. Didn’t we meet when I was with Matthew and he called you to join us? Isn’t that what happened?

And if you go back and read the piece you’ll see I’m not praising Matthew so much as I’m repeating his accusations against Wayne Eagleson which I viewed as being very serious. I said they should be investigated.

I didn’t ad hominem someone like you have.

Though I suspect you’ll not publish this comment like all others I make.

    • Hold on – you and I have met??? Really? That was the day Hooton was very upset shortly after the Radio Live walk out? That was you? I barely remember you and am surprised that you didn’t point out that you were Ruminator at the time.

I vaguely remember you were nervous and underwhelming? Was that you?

Now if I remember correctly Rumy, you emailed me wanting to be friends, I said no thanks I’d prefer to have nothing to do with you and you rushed onto Twitter and threatened to destroy my reputation with a terrible smear you apparently had on me. So putting up with your little sanctimonious higher than thou routine when you take to Twitter and threaten to release dirt just like Slater does is a wee bit tiresome champ.

My point in the blog was the praise of Hooton is a little premature and that he still has skin in this game. You want to turn that into a public temper tantrum, go do it somewhere else. I’m busy.

      • I emailed you Martyn saying that the fighting between us was unnecessary and if you talk about the “left” not eating its own, well you had a good chance to make good on that talk.

I didn’t threaten to destroy you at all. I know a thing or two about you that would harm your reputation, but I have repeatedly said that I would never make them public (in fact I did so again this morning). Because I’m not that kind of person. I just thought that since you and I had the same goal(ish), that there could be common ground. But you made it pretty clear that you weren’t interested.

And yes, that was me, I wasn’t nervous. I may have been underwhelming, but that was because you didn’t pay me any attention until you thought that you could get something out of me when you found out my workplace.

And once more, I didn’t praise Hooton in my blog. I just repeated his accusations. And yes I’m well aware he has a vested interest in this too.

        Cheers Martyn, stay gold.

        Dave

        • That WAS you? I see why you were so nervous now. Funny you didn’t tell me who you were.

Hooton was very upset that day. From a very human stand point, allowing him to hurt alone wasn’t a kind thing to do.

You emailed me after slagging me off on your blog wanting to be friends, I said I’d prefer to have nothing to do with you and then you went onto Twitter and threatened that you had details about me that would damage me. You have made that threat again here in this post and you have repeatedly made this threat on twitter. I think people reading what you have had to say here shows proof of that threat. You say you are just mentioning it and would never release ‘it’, but you can see by doing that, it’s just as bullying right?

You have the audacity to slag me while adopting those kind of bully tactics. You simply don’t have the chin to justify this level of self importance Rumy.

To demand we be friends in email and then take to twitter and threaten information that can destroy me suggests you are either an exceptionally immature and juvenile person or a very nasty piece of work.

What do you have on me? Are you going to attack my family? My personal life? Please don’t threaten my family Rumy, please don’t threaten my personal life Rumy. Is that what you need to hear you damaged individual?

Your inability to view your own behaviour critically is embarrassing. Now bugger off creep.

        • “I know a thing or two about you … that I would never make them public. Because I’m not that kind of person .” I always cringe when people say that.

        • Ruminator, what was the point of your even raising the “thing or two” if you had no intention of making it/them public? Do you use this approach with everyone you meet?

“How do you do, my name’s Norman Ruminator and I know stuff about you that would damage your reputation, but I would never use it against you because I’m not that kind of guy. Fancy a coffee?”

Do you not appreciate how whacked that sounds? Not exactly straight out of the latest version of How to Make Friends and Influence People.

I think you’ve done your chips here, pal, sorry.

    • Airing someone’s fairly recent and very serious misdeeds I would not view as ad hominem, in point of fact.

More illuminating the strategy most likely behind recent revelations by Mr Hooton. Which is fair enough, I’d say.

  3. Our own Gang of Four. Farrar, Slater, Hooton and Collins. (or should it be Cathy Odgers for Collins???)

Don’t it just make you feel were playing with the big boys, when we have our own anti-democratic forces wishing to topple our democracy.

  4. Bridges? Ooh, err yech.
Quite the to-do going there D.Ruminator, Mr B
get a room, there’s a bunch of folk in here

  5. They are all a bunch of Tory bullies with an over-inflated opinion of themselves, best summed up by Aaron Gilmore’s “Don’t you know who I am?” and Collins’s “Don’t you know I was the PM elect?”

Hooton is the softer, moderate face of Tory bullying culture and his appearances on Q+A commentating ‘from the right’, arose after Michelle Boag admitted that she had been to many $5,000 a head fund-raisers on behalf of the Nats. We certainly can’t have Natz like Boag rubbing kiwi noses in the fact that she eats fois-gras with gourmand delight, while 250,000 kids are in poverty eating budget spread on $1 a loaf white bread. So she was Marie Antoine’s-etted in favour of the more assinine Hoot, who is already distancing himself from Key and Slater, but what’s Hoot’s motive?

ACT in Labour in the 80’s and this shower now have contributed to this unequal society. Seeing the poverty on Campbell Live Monday night made me cry and get angry.

Deep down kiwis stand up against inequality and unfairness, evidenced in Telethons, on the erstwhile Holmes and Sainsbury and more recently on Campbell Live human interest stories.

Kiwis need to get out to the polls in droves on September 20th and vote positive for a fairer and cleaner New Zealand. Yes the pun was intended.

To vote is a way to stand up to the bullies like Lusk and Collins and Key and Hooton and Whaleoil. Kiwis need to ignore the dirty politic polls and the biased media and say NO!. Loud and clear. Never again let scum like this ruin our great country with their bullying, smears, standover tactics and threats.

Fascists like this need to be expelled from New Zealand’s voting system for ever.

  6. Good point about Hooten. I enjoyed his bust-up with Boag and thought he made some good points. Good enough to have Boag dusting off the shameless old retort about your adversary being on some form of stimulant or being deranged when you’re on the ropes and the uppercuts are giving you whiplash. But, as you say, he’s a right winger to the core — I nearly said soul — and they love their hidden agendas, don’t they? There’s always an agenda with those guys.

  7. Martyn Bradbury is worth 10 of almost any other men today, Nicky Hager aside.

He has a fine mind and straight clear soul that we are all very greatful to have, as we fight to save our democracy from these egotistical poisonous rumour traders.

The bottom feeders have more morals than them.

We need to purge them from our lives when the change of Government comes.

Feel good get this creep back by signing the petition to force a Royal Commission and then shop these creeps to the inquisition and have them barred.

Keep up the good work Martyn and try and connect the dots about why John Key was attending a NAZI founded organisation the Bilderberg group while in Europe in 2011 if you can, Here’s the invitation list with his name on it as PM of NZ.

Below he was in attendance as John Key Prime Minister of New Zealand.

Attended by most the biggest industrial and richest elite globally their aim is to dominate the globe and control all activities.
