After being smacked down by Andrea Vance, Kelvin Davis’ new best friend Cameron Slater uses Kelvin to attack Hone and claims Kelvin is more honourable than Hone. Apart from being 100% wrong, today has actually provided a real example of political honour with the resignation of ACT Party candidate Guy McCallum because of Jamie Whyte’s racist political stunt…

An ACT party candidate and board member has reportedly resigned over his leader’s speech on race.

Dunedin North candidate, Guy McCallum, told Otago University student magazineCritic that Jamie Whyte had told ACT members he was searching for “a stunt…..because you know, the polls.”

Congrats to Otago University magazine Critic for such a great scoop. Excellent to see University Student media leading the debate.

With McCallum’s resignation, we now know that Whyte’s racist nonsense was just a sad political stunt, in McCallum’s own words…

“Act’s policies are about reminding you of scary burglars, zealous bureaucrats with a hidden green agenda, and resentful Maori of taking an equal placing. This is the imagery the vague words are designed to create. Liberals and libertarians are getting a rough deal from ACT.

If there is a God, the Labour, Green and MANA voters inside Epsom will cast their electorate vote for Paul Goldsmith and end this pathetic joke that ACT have become.

  1. The people of Epsom obviously have no personal integrity if labour told me who to vote for I’d probably vote for someone else.

  2. Hey hey…I’m in the Epsom electorate and my ballot paper will be the one with one tick for Paul Goldsmith and the other for Internet-MANA. It’ll probably be quite easy to spot my paper in the crowd! Lol!

  3. Where is the respect for the common man? Many people are now just not able to adequately feed and house their families, warrant their cars and turn up for appointments. For these people, what happens in parliament to decide their fate is deadly serious. There is no racial profile for across the board poverty, yet this character Jamie Whyte, looks for a ‘stunt’! Then he pulls out the most mangled looking rabbit from his hat. That this could be even remotely part of an electioneering process is just plain weird in it’s insensitivity. It’s good to see there is still integrity out there as Guy MaCullum ‘s resignation demonstrates.
When parliament opens, it is with a solemn prayer. That politics has deteriorated to one word answers, stunts, lies, etc dominating the tone of the proceedings is a matter of great concern.

    • Jane ,..agreed…this is globalism…and neo liberalism is part of it. These people are ruthless, relentless…

To them , and many like them the race card is standard fare ..if it can be used to retain power.

And power is what this is all about.

This is why a victory for the left is so important this election.
