Hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese have been evacuated and are crammed into storm shelters, while entire regions in the Philippines are without food and water, and bodies lie in the streets, hang from trees, or are buried in flattened buildings. Mass Murder
The stark difference between Labour and the Green over mining couldn’t be clearer.
To draw the Green Party into the cosy Labour/National Business As Usual club, ‘The Standard’ the Labour aligned blogsite, tries to cover over and minimise this difference by falsely claiming that Labour and Green Party policies on oil and coal mining are the same.
Even a cursory look at this early phase shows that they seem to have policies that look remarkably the same.
This last is obviously a blatant lie. That is unless the Labour Party also support a ban on all new coal mines, or oppose deep sea oil drilling, both of which Labour do not support.
The Labour Party activists at The Standard are clearly trying to spread the blame in a concerted effort to get the Green Party to become partners in Labour and National’s genocidal climate policies.
The Green Party must stand strong and resist this right wing pressure on them, even if if means forgoing seats in cabinet to do so.
