  1. Disabled still being screwed by government. Check out this info from MSD that shows if you are disabled you get a maximum 40cents/km (as petrol costs “should not be more than the mileage” and making the assumption that someone could even afford a 2.0L vehicle), but if you are working for MSD you get 74cents/km.

Note especially that the mileage rate for disability costs has not increased for at least 20 years. These are people who depend on the state for their dignity and wellbeing.

    Private car
A client (and attendant) can receive assistance for travel by private car based on:
    • mileage or
    • petrol costs if receipts are produced (but should not be more than the mileage)
The amount paid per kilometre travelled depends on the cc rating of the vehicle as follows:

    cc rating
    Rate payable per km
    up to 1000
    29 cents per km
    1001 – 1350
    30 cents per km
    1351 – 2000
    35 cents per km
    2000+
    40 cents per km
Note if the client and attendant travel by taxi or private vehicle then only one set of travel costs should be incurred and paid.

    Mileage rate increase
The mileage rate has increased from 0.62 cents to 0.74 cents per kilometer.
