Why vegans are so sanctimoniously self-righteous in their militancy (and never make good flatmates)

  1. Is this supposed to be humour? If so, you have completely misunderstood the point of the quote.. i imagine you wouldn’t call feminists “sanctimoniously self-righteous in their militancy” so why should people fighting another form of oppression be described as such?

  2. This raises an interesting question – what is the basis for respecting another persons point of view? On the one hand we are meant to respect other people’s choices, otherwise we could be accused as being moralistic (sanctimonious). Strangely, this requires us to make moral judgments, otherwise how would we know that we are potentially disrespecting another persons point of view?

  3. The quote only works if vegans were the ones being eaten.

As it is militant vegans, of the proseltysing (everyone should be like us) variety, are the worst of hypocrites, narrow minded and not particularly bright. Their ethics don’t stand up to much scrutiny.
