The contempt National show democratic process is pretty well recorded. When John Key isn’t robbing the caregivers of the sick and disabled the ability to challenge him in court, he is forcing through the ability to spy on all NZers.
The latest attempt to re-write NZ legislation however has the extra dubious honour of not just removing democratic oversight, it is written for corporate oil interest, not NZs.
Minister for Corporate Environmental Degradation, Amy Adams, introduced a new proposal that sees applications for exploratory drilling going through the Environmental Protection Agency. These are “non-notified” meaning the public won’t get a say on exploratory drilling and Amy intends to pass this through a Supplementary Order Paper in the Marine Legislation Bill meaning the Public won’t even get to have a say in the Governments new ability to stop the Public from having a say.
It’s a double slap in the face to democracy.
This follows the Anadarko Amendment which used the exact same loop hole to deprive the public from having a voice on deep sea oil drilling.
Adams claims this new process removes the costs to big oil and that involving the public is too time-consuming. That’s right, your right to have a say on oil companies drilling our oceans is too time-consuming as far as the National Party are concerned.
This Government have no view to the long term interests of NZs environment. They see 100% pure as an impediment to making short term money.
The sooner this Government is voted out and replaced by one that genuinely sees the value in keeping our environment at a premium, the better.
Easy vote greens not labour or anyone else.

Also laws have passed in the U.S.A to prevent people getting footage of the what is happening in the food industry like the law that changed here about protesting deep sea drilling at sea. So the TRUTH will be impossible to obtain soon. So please watch these d.v.ds and see what we are in for. Keep a vomit bag close to the couch. To much is happening out of sight out of mind, this is letting farming, fracking and deep sea drilling practices that shouldn’t even be legal let alone they change the laws to accommodate them. Everyone needs to see what is happening here and in America as we are going down the same track, and see who the real scary terrorists are…!
