I disparage all religions for three main reasons, Islam’s book being less toxic than the Christian sky pilots one makes no odds for this atheist.
1. They indoctrinate children before independent reasoning is developed.
2. They are generally anti women, sometimes oppressively and violently so.
3. We may live in a cold uncaring quantum universe but the universality of the underlying structures means human history has long been materialist based. Religious burblings and myths just fudge this and hold back progress.
Where is the progress Relic? It seems to me that materialism is the problem. We need to attend to our spiritual selves (without dictation or dogma) in order to be better people. I agree most religions are hideously anti woman (I am not religious but I am certainly not atheist either). Spirituality is not religion but a path towards higher humanity where we actually give a shit about each other, ourselves, and the environment we live in. Myth (from all cultures) is a big part of understanding this process.
The Islamic oppression of women is an issue created by the media & the single fact that Saudi Arabia won’t allow women to drive.
If you dig deep enough, through the images the Western media has drawn, you will find an answer that will shock you.
