Key has played all of this very poorly.

Telling NZers they would get a say on the TPPA in Parliament.

Deny the deal is being signed in Auckland.

Deny the deal is being signed at SkyCity.

Start a fight with Maori over the TPPA by signing days before Waitangi Day.

Threaten to not turn up at Waiting Day.

Then having to u-turn on that decision because not turning up would be so damaging.

All Key has done is ensure the protest is massive, and that’s what National are trying for now, knowing they can rally redneck support if events turn ugly.

Key going to Waitangi Day will be based on how Police treat protestors tomorrow. If it’s heavy handed and there is anger at the way Police behave, Waitangi could erupt.

  1. A lady of 87 is going down to Auckland to “see” the protests with her son. If any harm comes to this lady Key will be in deep poo, shes always been a Key supporter and there many like her.
If John Key thinks the protesters are all left he can think again, there is no such thing except for the twits who are brainwashed into thinking they are always right being right , there are many many ex national supporters going,of course if any harm occurs because of police presence he can shrug and say the police weren’t meant to harm just keep law and order, then order a pretence of “an inquiry”
So some police could lose their jobs, see if Key looks after you then, you would be on your own.

  2. John Key will be well protected by his armed police and bodyguards.

There’s no way however, that these bodyguards could or would ever use weapons on marae protestors, so the armed protection squad would be severely hampered in their duties to protect the PM. So in effect they would be as useful as chocolate teapots in the defense of the PM.

So, while Key and his coalition partners stand by their unpopular decisions from the safety of Hoskings, Henry, Mediaworks and Shock-Jock studios, out where the impact of these decisions is felt, is a different story.

As for signing the unpopular TPPA without proper consultation or tatau tatau korero, on the day before Waitangi Day, that’s a right-wing, neoliberal middle finger salute to Maori and multi-ethnic New Zealanders.

    • Given that Key lets his bodyguards rot in Ozzy jails, he might find they all have to tie their shoelaces if a real threat crops up.

  3. A sheepish Key surreptitiously using and blaming protesters as a deterrent…the old ”woe is me – we only want whats best for New Zealanders” tack…

But he only wants whats best for New Zealanders it appears when there is no genuine consultation process – thus anti democratic.

Which leads us to recall that the only way we ever heard about the true meaning of the text of the TTPA was when it was leaked…

But that same look of ‘possum caught in the headlights’ was in the mans eyes as he had when trying to deny the XKEYSCORE and Cortex surveillance software programs existed …and then was caught out lying.

Study the man and you will see the classic signs over and over again.

This man knows very well what the ramifications are of this anti democratic , anti sovereignty trade deal – and this is the real reason there was never any real attempt at consultation…

    1) Trampling over our sovereignty

    2) Installation by proxy of an ‘upper house ‘ via multi corporate’s with final say over our parliament. And that by using duress and the weapon of ‘suing ‘ the govt.

    3) Bypassing and ignoring Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

    4) Bypassing the Resource Management Act.

    5) Denying the democratic process with its decision to withhold the facts.

    6) Denying regional differences and that regions unique needs and self governance because of that uniqueness .

    7) Disadvantaging small business and workers ability to negotiate.

    8) Crippling self governance by an independent state to self rule in that states interests.

    9) Inhibiting measures taken to protect environmental aspects due to corporate interests.

Each and every one of these points can easily be extrapolated and fine tuned by reading the text to reveal the very damaging effects on national sovereignty and the negative social and economic impact upon the citizens of this country… and yet this…puppet…. continues the dance of deception.

And admits this ‘deal’ leaves little for this country to gain except all of these negative attributes…

This truly is… and will become even further as this progresses … the dark hours of the Key led govt.

What we are now witnessing is the decline not only of the Key govt , but also the very premises of the foundations of neo liberalism – as this is not just about the TTPA , – ( and that simply being a showcase for neo liberalism ) or merely the popularity of Key , but the very heart and core of the neo liberal ideology that has been sadly predominant in this country for the last 32 years.

  4. Our most divisive PM since Muldoon, it might back fire on him, the red necks will vote for him anyway, so nothing will change there, but the middle ground might start to realize how divisive he is.

    • No…it was bigger , dork.

      L0L0L0L0L.

      Fact.

So big in fact …that the guy who has vested interests in the TTPA aka John Key is too gutless to go to Waitangi… what a loser.

    • @ Im Right – no it was far from a big turnout. It was a massively huge display of dissatisfaction from ordinary Kiwis towards the TPPA, of which I was proudly part of.

I’d say 25,000 in Auckland alone was a bit of a shock for your dear leader, who it seems is bottling it now, refusing to go to Waitangi! A coward’s way. Not wanting to face the music he created! FJK, in typical form when the going gets tough, hiding like a cornered rat!

And yesterday was just the beginning of what’s to come!
