When Covid first erupted, I argued mathematically chances of a lab leak were a real possibility we needed to look at because the history of lab leaks was actually far greater and larger than many knew.
Because of the prevalence of these types of labs and with human error factored in, there is an 80 percent chance of a a dangerous pathogen escape every 12.8 years.
I was cancelled 3 or 4 times for making this claim by Woke Twitter because anyone asking deeper questions at a time of panic and fear tend to get knifed first, but the shock scoop by The Wall Street Journal this week that the Energy Department now believe Covid escaped from a lab leak is a dangerous ratcheting up of tensions at a time China is considering aiding Russia.
What’s interesting is that the Department of Energy is a very technical expertise level department, it’s the smartest of the smartest at nano level scrutiny. They are the super geeks and super nerds, if they say there was a chance Covid came from a lab leak, then you best be bringing your A Game to challenge them.
The most dangerous part of this new disclosure is that America’s involvement in accidentally providing the research dollars to commit to this virus research will also get exposed.
This truth being slowly decompressed is being done for very polarising reasons as America steps up its pressure against China.
To date America hasn’t wanted too much investigation into the origins of Covid because they themselves are so involved, but the pressure Putin is generating in the Ukraine and China’s possible support of that war is clearly forcing America’s hand and they are prepared to expose China while exposing America’s role in the lab leak.
This is a dangerous game by America, sure Covid may have leaked from a Chinese lab, but it was American money that was funding the research in the first place!
Such a calculation is high stakes geopolitical chess which the Nord Stream 2 bombing proved America is more than willing to play.
The deep suspicion of a lab leak is legitimate.
We know there were embassy cables warning Trump that the Wuhan Lab was a safety risk.
We know the lab was experimenting on the virus and that scientists have now cast suspicion on the virus having been tampered with.
We know US Intelligence picks up a pandemic in November.
We know lab staff suffered symptoms exactly like Covid a month before the first case in December.

It’s been 3 weeks and the extraordinary allegation that America and Norway bombed the Nord Stream 2 bombing are still not convincingly denied.
The latest extraordinary investigative journalism from Pulitzer Award Winning Journalist Seymour Hersh is made so much more poignant because his detail is difficult to refute alongside his past history of exposing power.
Hersh is one of the best journalists the planet has and if he says that America purposely colluded with Norway to blow up the Nordstream pipeline that released 400 000 tons of greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere, then they fucking did!
Hersh’s previous body of work has been some of the best investigative journalism using decades of contacts within the Military and the Political Elites. He is rarely faulted, and the evidence and time frame he narrates looks inexcusably true.
If what has been alleged is true, the Americans had no intention of never blowing these pipelines up, they were only concerned about not getting caught!
That means they were always prepared to commit a climate disaster on purpose no matter what the outcome!
They were always going to commit an ecological genocide for their long term political ambitions of hurting Russia.

There are so many crazy claims being seized upon by the feral antivaxxers to curate cherry picked stats over everything from increased heart attacks from taking the vaccine, to masks not working to natural immunity being as good as the vaccine that don’t mean the things the feral antivaxxers seem to think they mean.
Nothing released to date proves that the vaccines didn’t work, we already knew some masks didn’t work and causation vs correlation explain the rest.
The problem with the antivaxxers, as much as the woke, is that their entire identity is now wrapped up in this and the alienation it caused them is deeply personal and hurtful.
They will NEVER accept the science that the vaccines overall protected us because they are too personally invested in the echo bunker narrative they have adopted.
Talking of batshit crazy, currently the feral antivax Qanon freedom voices glee club are claiming on their social media echo bunkers that the Labour Government are secretly covering up 1400 deaths and storing the bodies at a secret morgue.
Why the Christ we would hide 1400 dead is never explained, but most perplexing is the how, there is just no way in New Zealand any organisation could hide 1400 bodies without 1400 angry families demanding to know where their whanau are.
The idea that the State are secretly hiding casualties from Cyclone Gabrielle is so disconnected from any understanding of process it’s flat earth, fake moon landing level conspiracy stuff and yet there is a willing audience who are so twisted with animosity towards Jacinda that anything that reeks of Deep State crimes against humanity are immediately leapt upon with all the passion of a drug addict finding a baggie down the couch.
It’s almost a mental illness now that provokes a violent explosion of untempered rage.
We have been so much more damaged psychologically as a people from the Covid response and the anxiety generated by losing the certainty modernity flawlessly creates.
This has demanded answers from our lived experience too deep for our shallow existence.

Anyone with even half a brain, right back at the start of the covid outbreak added 2 & 2 together and got the correct answer. The bare facts:
> The outbreak occurred in a city where they were conducting gain of function research.
> Those labs had a history of mishaps.
> One of the lab workers was a very early victim. Case#1?
> A Beijing University scientist wrote a report on the propensity of those labs to leak…then disappeared.
> No intermediate forms of the virus were found in nature.
> That type of R&D had been banned in the US under the Obama administration because of the risk, but Fauci and others had given the Chinese funding to carry on regardless (What arrogance! He needs to see the inside of a prison cell.)
But what REALLY galls me is that a group of 20 top scientists from the UK, US and Australia co-authored a latter to Nature and The Lancet saying that the lab leak theory was a wild conspiracy theory, while subsequent OIA evidence shows there was much debate among them on the subject and pressure from above to conform to the official narrative.
So here we have yet another example of scientists lying their useless asses off to protect their careers and funding stream. It begs the question: What else has the science establishment lied to us about? I can venture a few examples, but you wouldn’t (yet) print them. Maybe in 5 years when it’s all common knowledge. 😉

The DoE regard lab leak as most likely with low confidence, the FBI also do but with somewhat higher confidence. The WSJ article is only a scoop in the sense that DoE information has not been officially released and it now ‘safe’ to discuss it in polite society with out risk of social stigma.
However lab leak should arguably have been the prime contender since Nicholas Wade’s article mid-2021 almost a year before the Vanity Fair piece. Even the CCP doesn’t regard natural origin as the likely cause (having claimed, at the end of 2021, that it came from Fort Detrick, one of many shifting claims).

Daszak’s part as CCP favoured US member of the UN investigation into Covid involved taking ‘China’s word for it’. Fauci also sought to suppress alternatives to the chosen covid strategy such as The Great Barrington Declaration forwarded by a number of eminent epidemiologists that were successfully dismissed as ‘fringe’. There is much more to Fauci’s greatest hits, see his equivocation on what is ‘Gain of Function’ is and that such research (banned under Obama and restarted by Fauci) has actually increased since the pandemic started with all the risks that involves.
In addition to Nordstream being ‘Russian sabotage’ other ‘truthiness’ observations can be made about, Russiagate (That the Trump campaign conspired with Russia to win the 2016 election), Jesse Smolette racist attack, Covington High School kids, Gretchen Whitmer kidnapping plot, Hunter Biden laptop, Julian Assange, a small selection of stories in the last few years that were either fabricated, completely misrepresented or suppressed and which mainstream political and media classes ran with.

So one cannot be too harsh on the average conspiracy theorist given that highly educated professionals and officials so frequently and self-righteously get it wrong.
These are people with access to deeper sources of information and intelligence, greater ability to ask pertinent questions and that ability to inflict social or material penalties on those who don’t comply with the current (and often changing) orthodoxy.

By May 2020, I knew for a 99% certainty that it was likely a lab leak. There were many many if it looks like a duck moments as well as a couple of genetic issues that delivered the clincher, showing that the virus must have gone from what it was to what it became almost miraculously and it had also acquired a notoriously well known and very specific gene addition used in gain of function research. Then the final smoking gun was the ‘gene’ evolution chart which in a nutshell showed that the new virus was only 35% similar to existing similar viruses which in genetic terms is unheard of in natural selection. Not impossible but very close to and incredibly unlikely.
However Fauci and Dazak coopted a number of the western worlds top virologists to rubbish the entire thing. Which just goes to show that science has been utterly corrupted. As Bomber says anyone who stood against them (Say Media types or University geneticists or researchers) were thoroughly crucified and deplatformed to a never before seen extent. Most Western govts seemed to be ‘in on it’, NZ not excluded.
But what most people still dont realise is that not only did the US not want to bear responsibility for involvement in the actual leak but that the world had a moratorium on that kind of gain of function research which the US had unilaterally ignored and undermined. Not sure of the dates but something like 2010 there was another pathogen escape that could have been really bad but got caught and contained early enough. The upshot was the world got together and agreed they would stop doing it. But various countries (including the US continued doing it).
This should be front page news with the world condemning China and the US for doing it in contravention to world accords. They should be made to at least apologise to the families of those that died. But no, we will all continue on like it’s just another scurrilous conspiracy theory and sweep their perfidy under the rug.
I am not at all sure NZ becoming a neutral country would be a good idea but if so, this would be a good reason if one were needed. The super powers are corrupt as are our governments in supporting them.
The simple fact that in the very early days of the outbreak, the Wuhan laboratory was taken over by the PLA and shut completely down, including online. Then all subsequent attempts to gain access to physically and information wise have been vehemently denied should say it all.
