New Zealand Young Labour Welcomes The Decision To Deny Candace Owens Entry To New Zealand
New Zealand Young Labour commends the decision to deny entry to far-right commentator Candace Owens, whose divisive and hate-filled rhetoric poses a threat to Aotearoa’s values of inclusivity and compassion. This decision reaffirms our nation’s commitment to standing against those who seek to incite hatred and division.
“Aotearoa is a nation built on manaakitanga, kindness, and acceptance,” said Young Labour President Ethan Reille. “I want to acknowledge how big this moment will be for our queer, rainbow and takatāpui communities. Denying Candace Owens a platform in New Zealand is a victory for our shared values and a clear message that we will not tolerate voices that seek to undermine them. However, this moment also highlights the need to do more to safeguard our shores from those who promote division.”
Young Labour draws comparisons to previous far-right figures like Lauren Southern and Posie Parker, whose visits brought heightened tensions and normalized hateful rhetoric. Owens’ influence, including her citation in the manifesto of the March 15 terrorist, underscores the potential danger of granting such individuals access to New Zealand.
While the decision to deny her entry is a step in the right direction, it must mark the beginning of a stronger, more proactive approach to countering divisive narratives. Young Labour is urging the Government to adopt additional measures to protect New Zealand’s values and communities.
“We have demonstrated that Aotearoa stands firm against hate,” Reille added. “Now, we must ensure our systems are robust enough to prevent similar cases in the future. This is an opportunity to lead by example and show the world that we prioritize the safety and harmony of our multicultural, inclusive society.”

WASHINGTON — YouTube says the channels of a far-right Canadian influencer have been removed after U.S. officials alleged the companyshe co-founded received US$760,000 in fees and commissions as part of an alleged Russian ploy to dupe right-wing influencers into sowing division among Americans.
An indictment filed Wednesday charged two employees of RT, a Russian state-controlled media outlet, in a US$10-million scheme that purportedly used social media personalities to distribute content with Russian government messaging.
While not explicitly mentioned in court documents, the details match up with Tenet Media, founded by Canadian Lauren Chen and Liam Donovan, who identifies as her husband on social media.
Candace of course should be allowed to speak in NZ and NZers who find her vile hate grift offensive should be free to protest her, but we should also know she is stained by association to a Russian disinformation and misinformation network.

Being a black woman protects you from almost every criticism. Until, that is, the black woman happens to point out the existence of disproportionate Jewish socio-political influence, at which point the black woman gets fired by her Jewish boss Ben Shapiro, and is prevented from entering New Zealand by what must, by implication, be disproportionate Jewish influence over who can enter our country. Despite these observable facts, most people still refuse to accept the socio-political dynamic.

Celebrating the banning of a black woman wanting to express her truth is far from being kind and accepting.

The harmony of our increasingly unequal class society where, increasingly, low paid workers in full employment must beg for charity food parcels. Young Labour is the voice of the privileged status quo. More than ever we need free speech to oppose their shit.
This problem is systematic and not just limited to Young Labour, or one side of the political divide. And this is because governments are increasingly either supporting or turning a blind eye to bad acts being committed all over the world. Thus, anyone who draws significant attention to these acts and the governmental action/inaction they generate, becomes a threat to the system, to the status quo of the world today, therefore they face, at best, censorship or character assassination, or worse, both.
The political system is broken, growing censorship is needed to mask this fact.
