  1. The Democratic party are highly unlikely to select Warren or Sanders as presidential candidate because in large part they see nothing wrong with how the US economy currently works and have no desire to change it. The vast majority of Democrat donors and advisers are huge beneficiaries of low progressive taxation, private health insurance and the permanent indenture of swathes of young students – US lawmakers have made student loans the only debt for which people cannot declare bankruptcy.
They may despise Trump but on economic policy they would not change a single thing that Trump has done. The Democratic party will – once again – select a candidate and run a campaign that is totally devoid of progressive policies and instead focus entirely on Trump.
In many cases moderate Democrats see Donald Trump as less of a threat to the way things are than Warren or Sanders both of whom will present serious challenges to the status quo.

  2. Both the Democrats and Republicans ultimately serve only their corporate masters. The “choice” has always been a false one – imo cynically designed from day one to deliberately cause division as opposed to uniting the people with common concerns. This has ultimately led to where we are now in Western democracies everywhere (including NZ) that been completely subverted by corporations and their interests many decades ago.
