What National’s discarded AI adverts tells us about how the Political Right see life in NZ and it is as hilarious as it is terrifying

Revealed: National’s rejected AI attack ads
National has acknowledged tasking an AI generator with creating political attack ads, but not all of its work appears to have made the cut.
It was revealed on Tuesday that the party had used generative AI tools to produce realistic-looking photos for social media attack ads on Labour.
Speaking to Breakfast yesterday, Luxon said there was little difference between prompting an online service to make an image and purchasing a stock photo that used actors to portray scenarios.
One of those online AI services, Midjourney, has an accessible log of publicly generated images previously made by users. The service runs on Discord, a social messaging platform, and requires a paid subscription to use (around NZ$16).
1News found two of National’s AI-generated images on the platform and several dozen others, which appear to be unused iterations generated in the past few weeks.
An account with the name “TG Creative”, prompted Midjourney to generate images of Vin Diesel that were later used in a National Party meme, alongside a picture of a woman peering out her home at night — which would later be used in an attack ad on crime.
Several of the unused images appear to relate to policy areas that National has previously criticised the Government on — including for violent crime, cost of living, health, and education.
…clearly another ‘emotional junior staff member’ has left the prompts and images public and TVNZ has found them, which is hilarious because what these discarded images tell us about how National sees modern life in New Zealand is both hilarious and terrifying.

I’m learning far more about the increasingly obviously left partisan media and their constant anti national attacks, than I am about nationals choice of adds.
I don’t think newshub and TVNZ quite know just how petty and one sided they really are.

I have to admit by looking at the AI images they look more exciting and capture one’s attention more than the real thing.
It will interesting to see how society reacts and adapts to this technology.
Not sure how it will turn out or what it will unintentionally lead to.

Why use AI when there are so many real images they could use?
Disgraceful and dishonest, more so when sanctioned by a so-called man of god. These Nat dimwits under-estimate the intelligence of the public, but so do Labour and the wilting Greens, constantly. A pox on the lot of them.

Hilariously the Herald article seems to be implying that a major problem with AI is that anyone can now produce images that will manipulate people – clearly concerned that it will no longer just be the rich who have the resources to do that
Yes, the number of times the MSM uses completely different photos for a story seems to be just fine with them.
National could use AI positively instead of negatively. When they start airing adds with their leader, they should put, pray the gay away, Roe v Wade, pay for your prescriptions, kiddy bootcamp, 7 Haciendas Luxon, through an AI algorithm, and enhance him by adding charisma+empathy+relatability+trust, with a Steve Reeves body and Fabio bouffant, which may get him on a par with chirpy chappy Chippy.

I think National needs A.I because it highlights the lack of intelligence in their very individual National MPs.
If anyone uses A.i eg of a toddler I hope they know how to count the fingers and toes and not add an additional appendage to a toddlers’ hand(s).
What I have found weird about Luxon’s logic is 24 hours before the A.I adverts came to light he claimed he had never heard of A.I. But he contradicted himself yet again 24 hours later. Makes me think he is more of a Leader of a Fiip-Flop Party that gets Te Puke mistaken for Hawaii and vice versa.
I am sure National will always Copy and Paste adverts from America because of their very lack of true intelligence on THEIR part.
