  1. Alternately, how difficult would it be to subsidise parents to stay home and look after their own children for those crucial early years, as an alternative to being forced back to the grindstone and expected to put literal infants into childcare centres just so parents can continue to participate in capitalism.

Baby orangutans and chimpanzees stay with their mothers for up to 7 years and as a species we are very similar to these animals. Why society expects babies to attend daycare for 40 hour weeks is beyond me and seems very cruel.

    1. I agree ,just look at the social issues we now have since it was decided both parents should become slaves for the 10%.No wonder we have youth crime and suicide .

      1. Indubitably. It’s completely unnatural and so, so cruel. I’m a mother who happened to luck out and get a career opportunity that allowed my husband to stay home with our little boy and it has been so difficult to spend this time away from him, but I feel like the sacrifice has been worth it to have him spared from an early experience of daycare.

Had I not taken the job we would have had to enrol a 6 month old, pre verbal, pre walking baby full time.

In an ideal world without bills and mortgages I would have stayed with my little boy for at least 3 years. This shouldn’t just be a privilege afforded to the wealthy, I feel it is crucial for a functioning society.

  2. Who are these muppets and clowns you rant at? Surely not those of us who spend time reading what you write?

This tiresome shtick makes that hard work. Please give it a rest.

  3. If you find it offensive, then yes, it’s aimed at you. And the truth shall set you free. As for Seymour, he hasn’t graduated out of pre school and you can add Simeon Brown as well.

  4. ECE SHOULD BE PART OF THE NZ EDUCATION SYSTEM NOT A WAY FOR THE CORPORATES TO FLEECE THEIR WORKERS .Poor kids dont even know who their parent is .

  5. ‘Ministers have given the green light to slash regulations for the Early Childhood Education (ECE) sector to encourage more investment, increase competition and simplify rules for operators.’
Good news for factory owners as ACT finds a way around those pesky Child Labour regulations.

  6. they want to suppress education. it’s a conservative play to keep everything in the old boys club. status quo baby. all the dumb-arses that support them are already too stupid to see it.
