  1. “$1.4 Billion for confiscating the majority of NZ???”

The value of anything depends completely on demand. Without colonisation and the subsequent development of that land making it desirable for people to want to live here, the land would of course have had zero value.

    1. Jack, by development I guess you mean sewage systems that pollute water ways, intensive farming making rivers unfit for swimming, cities so congested people complain about facing the traffic each morning, forestry felling that destroys rivers, ghetto type housing development, etc …
People did actually want to live here long before our colonial ‘development’ took place, they travelled across the Pacific to enjoy what this country had to offer long before Tasman and Cook came to exploit its potential for resettling people trying to escape the ‘development’ of foreign places.
If all that matters to us is a monetary value, with no regard to environmental and lifestyle considerations, then we are the problem. It seems to me that Māori culture has much to teach in this regard, if only we are prepared to take a step back from our ever-increasing lust to exploit our country for monetary ‘value’.

    2. So are you suggesting that the Crown did Maori a favour by stealing their ‘worthless’ land so they could sell it to Pakeha who would then make it worth something?

  2. Thank you Martyn for highlighting David Seymour’s links to the Atlas Network.
The ACT Party website says he worked “…. and for private sector think tanks in Canada”. Does anyone know who exactly these think tanks were?

  3. I love (sarc) the way these rich demand democracy, then fund think tanks (aka propaganda machines for their viewpoint) to encourage us plebs to vote against our interests. It’s the best democracy money can buy, profoundly anti democratic.

  4. There was no blood bath, no uprising, the Prime Minister not reduced to tears, no dildos thrown just words which are not violence. The MSM and the lefts attempt to whip up a revolution through their continued misinformation and agenda against the government has failed.

    1. Sorry @Jack the rebellion against the far right has only just got started.
Already it has shown how incompetent this Coalition of clowns is.
Bring it on its time to bring this neo liberal outfit down.

  5. The asset sales. Now if large corporations knew there was a chance/likelihood that the next time a left leaning government was elected that specific sales could be unwound in the national interest then they would be more risk averse when contemplating purchase. Labour Green are their policies in line with the sovereign TPM.

  6. “This Government is denigrating our Treaty, desecrating our Independent Foreign Policy and mutilating our Global standing – and they’re just getting started!” Martyn Bradbury

    That’s the least of it.
No longer satisfied with just being complicit in genocide, by withdrawing aid to UNRWA, this government, along with other Western allies of the US, is actively involving this country in starving the people of Gaza to death.

No more aid for UN aid agency until Peters satisfied – Luxon
    12:41 pm on 30 January 2024

…..New Zealand’s Prime Minister Christopher Luxon confirmed New Zealand would be withholding further funding for the agency until Foreign Minister Winston Peters gave the go-ahead.

    Winston Peters you can’t hide!
    You’ve involved us in genocide!
