  1. If watercare fixed its infrastructure which loses more than 50 millions of litres a day we would not have a crisis now and would not be needing to take polluted water out of the Waikato River so Aucklanders can drink and wash in t.
    Every day at least one in eight litres produced is lost.
    Anyone who runs a business profitably knows that you continually have to put revenue back into it to upgrade and repair your equipment.
    This is something Watercare did not do because it wanted to increase the income of its CEO and shareholders. The general public suffer because of their greed.
    It is a perfect example of why something like water supply is a public good and should never be entrusted to a private company.
