  1. I seem to remeber something about a tax free threshold so something not being taxed bellow $10k or something. But my impression of the interim TWG report thingy was, because it was so vast my impression was they where doing a complete rebuild of the tax system. Change the brackets, add some, subtract some. How long has the TWG been together anyway, ages. If it was simple stuff surely Cullen could have pulled a policy out of his bag or something. Idk, but there’s major issues.

Tax payers are at there limits of what’s possible to squeeze out of them.

Mega Internationl foreign corporates don’t get taxed at all

Big NZ companies and family office get taxed way to much.

So there’s a bit of scaffolding to be worked around and jack hammers and stuff, clearly. This is probably the very last time they’ll be a chance for big tax reform so they better make the most of it.

    1. John Key got rid of that tax break for extremely low paid workers. They called it the Paper boy tax.

      1. The account that showed so much genius (apparently) during university John Key got a special jobs placement with some firm. Yet couldn’t even hide a rip off from normal people. No wonder he had to walk the middle line so hard. But hey, did you see the genius?
