TVNZ Poll highlights why coalition issues will determine Government – can the Left adapt?
Labour will be deeply disappointed in this result but they shouldn’t be surprised.
The Greens ambitious budget and the disproportionate penalty agains the Maori Party easily took points from Labour who despite a powerful performance by Chippy still don’t have any actual policy that will materially change peoples lives.
What does this actually mean?
It means Labour have run out of soft middle National vote to take and the Left still have no means of winning men back to the Left.
NZ culture and society have become so polarised by Social Media Hate algorithms manipulating resentment we get All Tribe No Village politics.
This polarisation is seeing voters drift from Labour to Greens and Maori Party and it is seeing National bleed out to NZF.
Look at how many fringe parties have support thanks to the polarisation…

ACT will be disappointed and NZF’s culture war grievance stoking is working.
Labour – needs to use their Facebook social media far better, needs to take using MMP strategically seriously.
Greens – They are offering vision, they are being rewarded.
Maori Party – The political theatre works for their younger voters, it alienates older ones. John Tamihere appearing at the Labour Party budget drinks this month is finally a genuine gesture of the two Parties trying to establish stronger bonds between the leadership.
National – Can’t believe their luck that they aren’t losing voters to Labour, but are being knifed by ACT and NZF.
ACT – Will be bitterly disappointed that NZF has the momentum.
NZF – Their anti-trans, anti-vaccine culture war antics have found fertile ground and with the support of the fringes can still drain out an extra point on election day. Bigotry in an All Tribe No Village political landscape works.
The NZ Left just don’t have a means to reach male voters and this is becoming a real issue now. The woke middle class identity politics of 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 drove Men into the arms of the reactionary Right and it also did that to many women as well.
This is the politics of resentment and rather than reach out to the right, Labour needs to talk to their own supporters first.
The Greens need to do the policy and the Maori Party must ensure Labour implement Green Policy.
That’s how a Labour/Green/MP Coalition would work.
The only way Labour, Greens and Maori Party win is if they work together and that must be to have a shared platform of policies they can tell voters will be implemented in 100 days.
One would have thought that the blitzkrieg of hard right policy from this Government would force the Left to work together because if they can’t manage that, these arseholes win again and cement their malice into place.

I think there are whole heap of people who don’t have a clue. They listen rather look at actual numbers and facts not the utter bullshit that Luxon and Willis spew. I think what you say is correct .The racists and the plain stupid cant see past the hate being put out by these people .Just take the worksafe law changes .They roll out the road cones hot line as the smoke screen to cover the real undermining they are doing .Having worked with worksafe after a serious incedent in the workplace ,I found they were in no way looking for blood .They came ,reviewed the situation with myself and others and together we came up with a plan to prevent that ever happening again .They then returned to see how we had progressed and went away happy with the result .
As the only trained H/S person on site I was amazed how slack management were toward H/S until the law was changed to make owners and CEOs accountable .Till then it was myself and other supervisors who were liable for the 30k fines if there was serious injury or death ,the company got off scott free .Once they discovered the new law could see them fined $250k each they soon jumped on the safety band wagon .Now the government wants to take that away and absolve the management of all responsability.More lives will be lost and the bot taking the calls about road cones will file those calls into the deleted file where they belong .
However no doubt we will see Brooke on the news next week picking up road cones that have been placed in a car park by ACT .
Seymour just doesn’t want to admit that those who oppose him are smarter than his supporters. While what does it profit a man and he gains the world is a spiritual principle it also has a literal application as ACT are in such a rush to destroy the environment in a pursuit of profit that they are unable to comprehend that there will be nothing left and the inevitable backlash (think French revolution) will destroy them.
The incompetence of Luxon, Willis, Seymour, Van Velden, Peters and Jones is something to behold…

RNZ Reid poll today has Labour ahead of Natzos 33-30%, and TPM on 5.5%-over threshold, with Lab, Green TPM on 63 seats able to form a Government.
Downside is Winston on 9%, upside-Act on 6%!

I think your right gordon walker and wheel but the Reid poll says the opposite from this one it has the left on top. I also think the pay equity policy will bite the right in the bum. And so, the next election is going to have a gender, ethnic and wealth divide re-voting.
