  1. Ha Ha ha Martyn is that your Daughter in the hamburger suit???

    Brilliant getup picture that was.

uyes the Washington swamp is now a fucking pit of snakes with Hillary and her ilk slithering around in it, son maybe Trump needs to drop a few gallons of petrol into the swamp finally and light a match.

    1. We have our own swamps (kauri) being cleaned out her by jude and her greedy husband aka Mr Oravida
looks like we need to be doing a bit of swamp cleaning ourselves

      1. I’m more worried about the Aupouri pirates and their aquifer draining.

Avocados are nice but – c’mon, people! Other people who’ve been there for much longer, need that water, too. And don’t want to find any salty taste in the kettle due to sea water sneaking in.

There’s a lot of vital wetland in Northland. And population pressure from further south. We’ll hope that Eugenie Sage can get her skates on; get more funding for DoC, and get those critical areas protected before the next swarm of developers hits the ‘scrubland’.

        Fingers crossed, eh?

  2. There is such thing as free trade why do they continue to call it this its a all a farcical.

  3. He can tariff all he wants; his fellow ‘entrepreneurs’ and overpaid CEOs were the people who followed Carnegie’s rule about ‘shift the business to kill the union’.

Even the NAFTA agreement didn’t help save small towns and businesses. Work that used to come north stayed in Mexico.

Basics such as reprocessing plastics and metals – shipped off to China because American workers ‘cost too much’. (China has cut back now because their younger people are now better educated and unwilling to take on mucky jobs.)

Bernie Sanders has been holding town hall meetings and getting coverage yet, unless he has a strong net of people who can turn the rhetoric into action and upgraded employment, he’s ‘candle in the wind’.

The affluent people Trump twitters to are part of the problem from way back. I wouldn’t expect solutions from that quarter.

  4. All attempts to ‘put America back on track’ are doomed to failure.

America gained it dominant position in the world as a consequence of easy-to-extract oil and other easy-to extract resources, i.e. forests just waiting to be cut down, underground water just waiting to be sucked out of the ground, high-quality coal just waiting to be dug up and burned, thick topsoil full of nutrient just waiting to be planted, gold and silver reserves just waiting to fund money-printing and foreign wars..

All factors that ‘made America great’ have been squandered in an orgy of stupidity and overconsumption that lasted many decades.

Now all the chickens are coming home to roost.
