Trump takes aim at diversity initiatives in wake of DC crash

President Donald Trump overnight questioned the actions of the army helicopter pilot and air traffic controller ahead of a deadly midair collision in Washington and quickly veered into politics to speculate that Democrats and diversity initiatives shared blame for the deaths of 67 people.

Because I am a news geek, I watched Trump’s press conference live.

It started out fine.

He was sombre, doing all the noises you would expect from any President in their Consoler in Chief role.

And then he suddenly takes a sharp turn, starts rambling about Biden and some past safety rules and then starts claiming that Diversity Hires are the reason the plane crashed!

The sharp in take of breath you can hear from the journalists at such an insane comment just hangs in the air until he finally ends for questions.

The eruption of questions demanding how the fuck he could possibly link this tragedy to diversity hire at the press conference announcing the deaths roared out from the journalists and he doubled down each time.

Just as we saw with the LA Fires, you’ve had public services cut to the bone and my guess is that the new flight routes and cut backs had more to do with this tragedy than Diversity hires…

As authorities piece together the nation’s deadliest US airline crash since 2001, the tragedy has raised new concerns about the specific dangers at Reagan National, which has had a series of near-misses in recent years. Experts and some lawmakers said they were concerned that the airspace was about to get more congested in the wake of Congress’ decision last year to ease restrictions that had limited the airport to nonstop flights within 2012km of Washington, with few exceptions.

Lawmakers enabled airlines to launch new routes to destinations like Seattle and San Francisco. The plan fuelled intense debate about congestion versus convenience, with some legislators heralding new flights to their home states while others warned of potential tragedy.

The flight that crashed was not part of the expansion. It was added by American Airlines in January of last year amid a push by Kansas lawmakers for more service between Reagan National and Wichita.

…for Trump to voice these insane partisan views while families sobbed in grief is a new low, even for Trump.

He’s so vile.
