  1. This whole situation honestly reminds me of when Jimmy Carter refused to military intervene in the Iran hostage crisis which lead to Reagan’s election and the undoing of the New Deal reforms…

    1. While Jacinda gets the blame from nobodies like yourself for the Covid changes it is ignoring that she took the advice of experienced people & that the results proved that the actions were correct. The most common reason that people give for not wanting the restrictions at the time is that they inconvenienced them, I mean who cares if a few more old people & immunocompromised people died as long as they could
      flaunt their independence.

          1. Certainly managed to ram through a lot of poorly thought out legislation relating to firearms in record time, but fixing housing, poverty or crime? Nah, too hard.

      1. Bonnie, There were jerks, but some persons may have had valid reasons for querying various covid scenarios or restrictions. Ardern lost it asserting “ we will continue to be your single source of truth” and “ unless you hear it from us it is not the truth. “ She also, probably wrongly, blocked a briefing from the police at the Parliamentary protest, on seemingly questionable grounds.

Her telling people not to talk to the neighbours was particularly brutal for many of the old people whom you cite, especially for the anxious thousands single and living alone.

  2. The election of a National Act government is a symptom of a societal shift to the right.

From the blood thirsty war mongers who accuse anyone who opposes them as ‘fascists’. To the National candidate who explicitly supported murderous cookers who had issued “writs of execution” against his fellow councillors.

The Right are mobilising and gaining ground.
The only solution the Right have to capitalist crisis, is austerity, repression, racism and war.
Instead of advocating and enacting measures to alleviate people’s economic distress, the Left response has been conciliatory, appeasing and confused.
It is the Left’s failure that makes people look to the Far Right out of desperation.

  3. At least Simeon Brown, Luxton and Seymour are going to come down hard on the Gang’s rather than Liabour’s Soft on Crime Approach. NZF and Shane Jones were going to sort out the Gang’s and get the Nephew’s off the Couch – “never happened” ???

At least National & ACT are making noises about resolving a problem which this Liabour Government can not see staring us all in the face. One only has to read the newspapers and listen to the news to realise we have a problem with Crime in NZ.

I have just returned from a 2 Week Holiday in Australia how refreshing not seeing the Low Life which we have here in NZ, which is a festering sore on NZ Society.

    1. you’ve drunk the kool aid – the easiest way to deal with gangs is to give drugs away for free – let people fuckin educate themselves (yes, through misery) and then we can all grow up and move on

  4. Labour recieved their reward for the management of covid 3 years ago. With 400k Nat voters switching sides to back Jacinda.
Labour now face the wrath of those who expected delivery of a better country with Labour in absolute control, only to find it was a big con and everything, absolutely everything is worse now than it was three years ago.
For these voters anything is better than 3 more years of decline and decay with Labour.
This election is all about a vote to be rid of labour, NOT a vote FOR any other outfit.

    1. Most of the Policy passed in 2017-2020 was New Zealand First Policy. They made Labour looked good.

  5. ACT typical voter is an Epsomite or a Remueraite looked behind their closed gates and security/surveillance systems protecting their families and their ill gotten gains.
