Judith Collins calls Chelsea Manning a ‘traitor’ who cost lives
Chelsea Manning is a “traitor” whose information leaks could have cost lives, according to National MP Judith Collins.Ms Manning, a former US Army intelligence analyst, was found guilty of espionage and theft and sentenced to 35 years in prison for leaking military files to Wikileaks. Her sentence was commuted by President Barack Obama and she was released after seven years behind bars.
…Ok, firstly it is a right wing lie that the 750 000 files Manning released that highlighted war crimes committed by America in their failed war in Iraq damaged US national security...
In 2010 Wikileaks published classified documents provided by US solider Chelsea Manning that were said to be damaging to national security, but a newly-public report claims otherwise despite assessments about danger to civilians in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Ms Manning was sentenced to 35 years in a military prison for leaking the nearly 750,000 pages, but her sentence was commuted in May 2016 by President Obama.
The secret June 2011 Defence Department report, obtained by Buzzfeed through a Freedom of Information Act request, determined “with high confidence that disclosure of the Iraq data set will have no direct personal impact on current and former US leadership in Iraq”.
…secondly it is the height of hypocrisy for Collins to show such selective morality, just as it is for National to cheer Molyneux and Southern a month ago while decrying Manning now.
Where the hell does Judith get off criticising Manning as a killer when she sits alongside Mark Mitchell a blood drenched Iraq war mercenary who worked in an industry that was riddled with allegations of war crimes?
So in Judith’s world a whistleblower who exposed war crimes is a dangerous traitor, yet Mark Mitchell who was actually a mercenary in that war is somehow a hero?
The right are hypocrites of the most disgusting and intellectually bankrupt kind. Judith doesn’t have a leg to stand on in her selective morality and it’s a reminder of how truly malicious she would be if she ever succeeded in knifing Simon Bridges and taking over the leadership.

When ever i feel like getting angry, i watch the video released by Chelsea Manning of american kids in a chopper “playing video games” murdering those journalists. As for collins and her mate mitchell. I can understand to a certain extent when the us sends its sons and daughters to invade sovereign countries for its arms dealing corporates and oil companies that there sacrifices need to be seen as spreading democracy etc??? The one thing i will never accept is that the lowest of scum mercenaries, private companies that murder for cash, in most cases against a much less well armed opponent, are held up as something to aspire to. Anyone for a brave upstanding member of parliament?

Judith Collins is the last human being (using that term loosely) to be on a moral highground.
Her behaviour in Parliament in collusion with Cameron Slater, releasing private details of a civil servant, put that man at risk from Slater’s “army” of crazed right wingers.
She is immoral, self-serving, and everything that is wrong in modern politics. Simon Bridges should watch his back.
