Yep … Matt McCarten hits the nail squarely on the head [adroitly reinforced by broadcaster Sean Plunket] … as affluent middle class professionals (essentially, narcissistic born-to-rule authoritarians) capture core organisations of the Left, along with key segments of the media & hence the broader cultural discourse, the Left’s traditional focus on universalism, the free expression of ideas & economic justice regardless of ethnicity or sex/gender has been transformed into an elitist Woke Vanity Project … purity spirals, moral panics and crude control-freak zealotry in which basic truths & democratic norms are destroyed and swathes of the working class are viciously scapegoated. All a corollary of the Identitarians’ highly selective “morality” & (top-down, paternalistic) “empathies” which, in turn, points to just how fraudulent & self-serving their politics are.
