  2. Great post but is sport just a game? Is it war by other means? Is it a distraction for the masses who have no real choices in life? Is it a pure expression of unbridled capitalism with the rugby best players earning hundreds of thousands in New Zealand while clubs struggle to find players? Is it exploitation with the top clubs in football holding academies in developing countries so they can take home the best talent for the cheapest price? Is it oppression of the working classes when migrant workers die while building stadiums for the next football world cup in UAE?

    Can professional sport really be separated from the rest of life?

  3. Great post Keith. I loathe rugby and all the sporting stuff that is shoved down our throats. But that doesn’t mean I don’t have empathy for others suffering with mental illness.
