The Orange Caesar: How Trump becomes the next President of the United States

The crude, base, Nascar bigotry right wing populism Trump creates I fear is far smarter than the disillusioned right of America who are currently flocking to him. His jaw dropping racism and simplistic answers to complex issues is drawing oxygen from an America who actually think Obamacare was Socialism.

Mainstream Republicans have for years played to that electorates god worship, fetishised rugged individualism and small business morality while rewarding corporates. The demand for an outsider to smash the system plays to this electorates Fox News exploited insecurities.

Trump’s populism is so great because he is talking to those insecurities in a way none of the other candidates would dare to if they wanted a serious shot at winning over independents post winning the Republican nomination.

If Trump wins the Republican nomination, who wins the Democratic duel between Sanders and Clinton will be fundamental to whatever front the New York peacock puts up.

Sanders is doing far better than anyone could have expected considering the mainstream media blackout and the manner in which the Democratic hierarchy  has attempted to tilt the ground in Hillary’s favour. He is generating vastly more people at his events than Hillary and he’s leading in the first two primary’s. If Sanders wins Trump might suddenly becomes very moderate because who are Republicans going to vote for – a Moderate Trump or Socialist Sanders?

Trump is playing to the cheap seats and its working. He is prepared to unleash an angry energy other respectable Republicans won’t. The problems is how we pulls that energy in if he wins.

  1. My instinct is that when it comes to the real crunch, the Republicans will probably go with Jeb Bush or Marco Rubio and the democrats will go with Bernie Sanders.

    However, if the two nominees are Trump and Sanders, Bernie will beat Trump. As I said, just my gut feeling! One of the factors that may work against Bernie is his age.

  2. If Clinton wins Trump may have a good shot as he is seen as anti-establishment. Sanders however is also anti-establishment and would wipe the floor with Trump.

  3. Great photo montage and messages! But must be Cesar, I think, maybe “orange” of sorts, but not Ceasar, as Ceasar may indeed mean a Cesar due to cease or decease some time soon, which some may see as a blessing.

    Deport all “overstayers” or undesired, that may include all white and black Americans then, also Asian, according to Trump’s logic. How may New Zealanders relate to such rhetoric?

    1. Caesar is the usual spelling, though Mike in Auckland’s riffing on “Ceasar” is amusing. However, given Trump’s immigrant family background; Kaiser, would be a better variant in this case.

  4. Trump appeals to individual greed as well and as we know National look to the Republican Party machine as a “how to” guide. We are about a decade behind this insanity but having said that would anyone have believed the insidious megalomaniac Dirty Politics/poll driven model would publically exist in NZ a decade ago and that it would be so successful?

Trump – like Bernie Sanders – has captured that sense of abandonment which is flowing through the US: that something is just wrong when my wages & conditions are getting worse, things are changing for the worse and my kids can’t get jobs. Trump has captured the “they took ma waf, they took ma jab” crowd (aka South Park) – who believe what Fox News (and most news to be honest) is telling them:” it IS those bloody foreigners” and Trump is talking ‘practical solutions’. Bernie Sanders is capturing those who want actual practical solutions. Bernie Sanders is more interesting though as Donald Trump is having huge amounts of free publicity from the media (unlike Sanders) but Sanders has – like Obama – a lot of individual people inspired and giving time and money to his campaign.

A confluence of unlikely events in the 2016 election, however, has given new impetus to his presidential aspirations.

    Mr. Bloomberg, 73, has already taken concrete steps toward a possible campaign, and has indicated to friends and allies that he would be willing to spend at least $1 billion of his fortune on it, according to people briefed on his deliberations. He has set a deadline for making a final decision in early March.

    Mr. Bloomberg’s close Wall Street ties and liberal social views, including his strong support for abortion rights and gun control, could repel voters on the left and right.

    Mr. Bloomberg has lamented what he considers Mrs. Clinton’s lurch to the left in her contest against Mr. Sanders, especially her criticism of charter schools and other education reforms that he pushed as mayor and has continued to support since leaving office.

  7. If the US economy continues to slide during 2016, they might as well hand over the keys to White House right now. It’s always the economy at the end of the day that decides elections, and Trump will be the go to successful businessman that will “save ‘merica” and “bring back our jobs”. But I’m south of the Bombay Hills so what do I don’t know anything except banjo twanging.

      1. You might like the REAL story behind that iconic banjo playing which made that music and indeed the movie ‘Deliverance’ VERY famous and made multi million dollars to the movie makers. The greedy/selfish movie corporate capitalist entities gave absolutely no more financial reward or royalties to that boy (nor to the other three background artists/musicians) except the $500 fees they had then paid.

  8. Makes me wonder if Trump’s dominance in the media, in the Republican race, isn’t paid for by him, to promote himself over the other candidates.

    I’d say he’d be comfortable in that “paying for favours” league, so common with the ultra wealthy, particularly where media is concerned!

  10. If the MSM and Republican Lite Democrats succeed in sabotaging Bernie Sanders, and putting Hillary Clinton against Trump. Then Trump will win, as there is no energy whatsoever in Clinton’s campaign, just a lot of hot air, endorsements, and campaign donations from corporations.

    When it comes the general election, the corporates and MSM will support Trump over Hillary. But in the weird fiction of the ‘moderates’, Clinton supporters believe they can beat Trump with no grassroots support.
