I think the deeper issue here remains the neo-liberal policy of limiting people’s freedom to grow, forage, and share plants for their own food and medicinal needs, so they are nudged towards buying them from corporations. Despite claims to the contrary, the Food Act 2014 is now being used in this way:

    Restoring our freedom to grow and use cannabis – whether for medicinal, edible, or recreational purposes – will likely require reducing the power of corporations to dictate public policy behind the scenes. Softly, softly, single-issue approaches that presume politicians know not what they do, and just need more education, seem unlikely to be effective.
