It’s such a hilarious movie and his comedic timing made being funny cool.

True Genius

His performance as a super smart College Kid tricking the Military Industrial Complex is what Ryan Reynolds built his entire acting career on.

The Doors

Managed to make The Doors cool again and give them the cultural power they deserved. Kilmer’s performance literally channels the ghost of Jim Morrison.

Top Gun 1 and 2

In Top Gun 1 he captured the essence of rivalry and begrudging respect, in Top Gun 2 Tom Cruise gave it all back to him in what was a genuine and beautiful on screen moment.

Tombstone

His Doc Holliday performance again spoke to an acting genius who managed to make supporting actor mean something.

I said his top 5, but there’s no way I can leave out Heat.

Heat

While Pacino and De Niro fought it out at the trop table, Kilmer’s complicated side kick staged the best standing shoot out ever.

Kilmer captured masculine moments and redefined them.

He was a clever actor who created unique performances.

I’m going to watch all 6 of these again.
