  1. NO way Upston can be PM as she hates kids and the poor along with the sick and the maimed .Bishop may be stupid but he will not be wanting to be in charge of a lame duck government .Brown has the ego to step up and sink the ship for ever .Frankly there is no one that could be seen as a leader to take back control of the government and do a 180 and focus on ending poverty which will fix most of our other society issues

I would say she is more than qualified as a leader of this cruel regime and its donors and supporters.

  2. The dreams you have of a Labour Party rolling out a heavy tax regime and a caring for the downtrodden is as unlikely as National ruling Luxon just when the tide is beginning to turn.

The dreams of you thinking National are good in government and caring for the downtrodden is as unlikely as Luxon remaining in power and thinking the tide is beginning to turn, a phrase you’ve rolled out for the past 18 months. Read any of the above links confirming the country and economy has gone backwards. You are either thick or stupid Trevor, take your pick.

    2. Ffs Trevor listen to yourself. Heavy tax regime my arse. The proposed CGT is hardly heavy. What planet do you live on? Which major economies in the OECD don’t have a tax on capital gains. You could do with a decent tide chart if yours is telling you it’s incoming. That’s called global warming.

      1. She posts poetry, which is an improvement on the insane ramblings of Im Right, Gaby, Zelda Trumpet, Bob the Gimp and some others. Kind of waiting for poems that rhyme though.

So Jacqueline, how about it? Do you do requests?

  3. Well, I too heard the rumour last week but it didn’t excite me, since Luxon is the Left’s largest contributor. Yes, if he goes so should Willis, but Upston for leader – what an ENORMOUS step backwards for them. But yes please, the Left will gain so much from the mess that will be Bishop-on-Tantrum and Cruella de Vil, Upston. Bring it on. Shame about the Knighthood Luxon but since that was your only reason for going into politics you deserve to miss out! Seriously what have you personally – and it’s all about you – done for NZ or its people?

  4. ” The drive is to go back to Jim Bolger’s decent society rather than Luxon’s dead eyed KPI CEO speak and Nicola Willis’ free market cruelty ”

The decent society was a con job in 1990. That’s neoliberal feel good marketing like the brighter future and getting New Zealand back on track.

Big business , the monied donors , scared MP’s and the MSM knows this government is dead in the water which is why all these survey’s are being done showing Labour is a better option to manage the economy and ensure the status quo remains in place. The only time the take notice of the suffering of ordinary people is when it threatens the free market economy , corporate power and either of the two main gatekeepers National or Labour.

Winston will have to endorse any change. Seymour has got most of the wins he and his donors came into government for so he is likely to go with whoever the National caucus supports.

    1. Yes, they always have a pithy tagline which promises the opposite of what they are about to do to you, which is something akin to either a 1000 cuts or just thrusting the dagger in.
Bolger, along with Shipley, was one of the very worst PMs we ever had. Together, they removed the cost of land, the cost of existing houses, and the cost of servicing a mortgage from the CPI.
Nothing, apart from the advent of neoliberalism itself, has had a greater contribution to poverty and inequality. It meant inflation is always lower than real cost of living increases, interest rates are always lower than they should be, and property prices can rise unrestrained by their impact on inflation and interest rates. And wages, tied to CPI, fall in real terms as CPI is half of what it would be if measured as in the 70s.
No wonder Bolger died full of remorse, as he realised the enormity of what he was responsible for, even if few understand this today.

  6. I think you’ve left out Judith – certainly smarter than Bishop, and experienced, like Trump, in spreading a message of hate, which, in the absence of credible policy, is all National have to offer.

    1. You mean that old crone who couldn’t even answer a simple question from last week in parliament from Camilla bellich and sent out meager the smiling nodding car dog the next day and he couldn’t answer the questions either

      1. Yes – It’s not premium grade, but compromises have to be made – and no-one is more compromised than JC.

  7. Keep Baldrick and Dracula’s daughter I say. They are doing a good job of pissing off ever growing numbers of NZers as they run the economy into the ground.

  8. They don’t need to do anything. New Zealand has had just two one term-governments, both were Labour, and the last one was 1974. History is on their side.

  9. The milk payout will get them back in unless it tanks next year – wouldn’t be surprised to see Fonterra dole out some moola to keep this lot in power

  10. Upston – lol – have you not heard her speak – about has sharp as a ping-pong ball. Is this a reverse psychology play?

  11. Whomever it is that Takes Over from Weakling Luxon most likely will not save National from sinking at the election.

All the National MPs are as Bad As Each Other. They are all morally bankrupt and lack credibility, honesty, trust. You name and they Lack It when it comes to being Ethical.

It’s well overdue time that National consigned their constant beating of the NZ National Party Blame-Game Mantra Drum to the History books. Every time Luxon etc have to wheel out this out-dated drum of blaming others than the faces staring back at them in the mirror renders them looking more childish and Out of Touch with Reality.

It’s not Impressive when Luxon has to resort to the Learnt by Rote Blame-Games because at QT he is incapable of answering difficult questions from the Opposition without needing to blame Someone Else.

Good luck National. With the Squalid bunch of hypocritical MPs you have you can be guaranteed a thorough and well deserved thrashing at the next election.

  12. Oooh this is getting interesting. Just had an awful thought. Well, awful if you are Louise Upston. How will she handle Seymour and Peters?
I don’t think that will end well.
