There are two rules of the NZ Police.
1: You can beat the shit of, kill and chase to death any brown person you like.
2: You can probably beat the shit of, kill and chase to death any white person you like.
Normally cops in NZ can beat you up, kill you or chase you to death with no real consequences, but now and again the Police try to pull the shit they get away with on brown people 24/7 in NZ on a white person, and the responding privileged righteousness of white man anger is a beauty to behold.
Take this case where the NZ cops pulled the usual shit they pull on brown people…
Eight police officers are facing charges after a man was allegedly wrongly detained, strip-searched and badly injured during an unlawful arrest – but they are still on active duty.
The victim in the case is angry they haven’t been stood down and an advocate says there needs to be more consistency with other officers having been stood down while criminal matters were being investigated.
Last month, Daniel Bond,who had his automatic name suppression lifted , won the right to take a rare private police prosecution against the officers who have pleaded not guilty at the North Shore District Court. The next court appearance is a case review in February 2023, the officers have elected trial by jury.
On May 2019 while sitting in his truck in Browns Bay, Bond claims that an officer mistakenly suspected him of drink-driving and arrested him when he refused to provide details. He was charged with obstructing and assaulting police but the charges were dropped at his first appearance.
Among those charged, a sergeant has been charged with assault with a weapon (pepper spray), kidnapping and injuring with reckless disregard. A sergeant and three constables have been charged with injuring with reckless disregard, and an authorised officer and two constables have been charged with indecent assault.
After his arrest, Bond claims that police also searched his vehicle and impounded his two dogs claiming they were aggressive. It took Bond seven months to get them back.
Bond claims that he suffered a concussion and neck compression fracture during the altercation and his cell phone was smashed.
…8 cops beat the shit out of him, sexually assaulted him with an illegal strip search, illegally pepper sprayed him and kidnapped him.
Now to be fair to the cops, they do this shit to brown people all the time and they never get into any trouble for it, but their mistake this time was to pull this shit on a white man, who’s innate privilege has lulled him into a false sense of security that civil rights matter.
He has responded to the NZ Police illegally sexually assaulting him, beating him and kidnapping him by taking a rare private prosecution against the pigs and I for one am all here for it!
Watching the cops squirm as their abuse finally gets caught and put on display will be glorious.
One of the most embarrassing parts about living in NZ is the disgusting manner in which so many acquiesce to the fucking cops. It’s never the cops fault when they shoot someone, it’s never the cops fault when they chase people to their death, it’s never the cops fault for planting evidence, it’s never the cops fault for using interrogation methods that bully false confessions out of vulnerable people. I think there is a settler cultural chip on our shoulders that always asks the mounted constabulary to bash those scary Māori at the edge of town because we are frightened of what goes bump in the night.
We willingly give Police total desecration to kill and maim and frame as long as long as they keep us safe.
It’s sickening and I am loving that they will finally be seen in Court for the thug force they are.
Despite my own run ins with Police, I’m not anti-Police, I’m anti a police force that has no checks and balances!

Well said Bomber. NZ Police retain a violent, macho, bent culture. Anyone who did not grow up Sunday school knows this. But, as the posts says, too many NZers do realise, and look the other way hoping that sucking up to the Police will somehow protect them.
As a person who has always exercised their democratic freedoms of speech, assembly and association, many is the time I have been arrested on marches, vigils, rallies etc. and then released without charge. Burglary? hahahaha, put up a union picket outside an employers premises and the cops are there in 10min.
Hundreds of cops per year are disgraced, and some very quietly end up before the courts. Evidence tampering, lifting drugs & property from storage, hitting on imprisoned peoples partners, accessing Police intel for personal reasons, bullying, stalking are some of the cases that have popped up from time to time and quickly disappear from media scrutiny. One lives over the road from me, forced into early retirement because he leaned on a prosecutor to drop an assault charge for the son of his business partner. He got pinged more because of running a business concurrently with serving, and he had previous interview tampering, let off by IPCA. Many of these guys think it is ok–that is how degraded Police culture is. I actually talk to him and he is certainly reflecting on life now.
Tasers were meant to be a lethal force alternative, but cops typically use them as compliance and punishment devices! Digital Surveillance tech also shows just how little respect for the law and public consultation they have.
Yeah, yeah–Police have to deal with the “mad, sad & bad” and clean up gruesome crash scenes etc. very touching, (though some of their work could be done by paramedics, fully staffed mental health workers and search and rescue etc) but they need to accountable and mean it if they want wide support.

Police lie and deceive every day in our courts.
The courts largely pretend it’s not happening, they are equally culpable.
Didnt we have this convo earlier this year? 3 yrs training for Uk police officers and 16? or 28? week training in NZ. Lower entry standards.
Yes the culture sucks (No thanks to the IPCC) but it comes down to the need to invest in a quality police force. Getting the right people, training them well and ensuring the right level of resourcing and the right culture.
So why did this man not give his name and adress ?
This morning in Franktown a dairy worker lost 2 fingers in a attack by 4 robbers with matchets .Who will be chasing these people .Who will be dealing with gang members and the everyday yob out to make a name for himself the drunks and mental patients let out too early . Who will deal with abuse and not be able to do anything about it because society has taken away their authority by weak sentences passed on affenders.
As with all groups there are some bad apples but most are good people trying to do a hard job.
I am old white and lawabiding so perhaps my eyes are rose tinted but I know without a good police force life would be alot worse for many especially the vunerable
While I agree with the article I don’t like his chances of getting a fair jury. It is just the power corrupts principle in action and most people prefer to look away than get involved.

Although sometimes desecration is more appropriate for the result of their actions.
