  1. “Jeremy and his mum broadcasting from inside TVNZs womb”

I haven’t watched NZ TV for more than ten years, so this article was really funny to me. I remember some of these faces, and their tendencies turned me off back then. Some of them I actively hate whenever i’m reminded they exist. I’m amazed they’re still at it, especially the bully bois whose credo from within soft socially acceptable politics boils down to “do what i say OR I’LL PUNCH YOU IN THE FACE.” I live for the day someone refuses in more than equal measure.

  2. I agree about Breakfast TV – it does some of the best news & current affairs – RNZ take note! I record and flick through TVNZ Breakfast later in the day some days, for the items I’m interested in.

I agree also that Jenny-May has done some excellent and informative interviews.

Take another victory run around the court.

  3. I find Breakfast to be a cross between government propaganda, infotainment, a woke agenda and a sermon. It is not reporting because journalists don’t piss themselves laughing after reading out dire poverty statistics or government failures. Journalists typically don’t report on wedding anniversaries or if they did, would check their sources and data so as not to disseminate touching tributes to mass murderers. And real journalists certainly don’t stand out in the field with a bloody broom pointing at a weather green screen and giggling with their mates and their in-jokes. This is an affront to true journalism and an insult to the public.

  4. Colbert is ok (prefer John Oliver but whatever). I just couldn’t stand “Our Cartoon President” though. It wasn’t even satire, it was all too believable. I can’t even stand to hear that asshole’s voice, I mute him any time he’s on the TV, so why would I want to watch a show where he’s the centre of attention?

  5. “Because fuck, that entire Muller fiasco was unbelievably destabilising.”

That very much depends on your point of view. For many of us it was time to grab some popcorn and enjoy the show ;o)
