  1. Far right wack job conspiracy theorists supporting Q is a bit of a mouthful. How about just Far Q. Has an appropriate ring for a bunch of muppets

  2. When one republican ( sitting alongside Marjory nutjob) stands and votes for Trump to be elected speaker, it’s time to bring out the straight jackets.

  3. Don’t be too amused, this shows how hard a minority caucus on the GOP side are willing to fight to get concessions even if they are largely procedural. Compare that with a near identical situation on the opposite side in 2020 where Dems had a slim majority and the progressive caucus could have withheld their votes for Pelosi as speaker to get a vote on medicare for all, a campaign aim. There was even a grass roots movement, Force the Vote.

The response? The progressive caucus declined to use the power they had, backtracked on campaign promises. Those advocating for ‘Force the Vote’ were demonised and the progressive caucus got into line with establishment Dems and in the following years all the effectiveness of a NZ Green MP with a Ministerial portfolio.

What’s more notable? that GOP minority groupings will fight for their own self interest, or that Dem progressives won’t fight for everyone else’s interests?
