The dumbest people of 2018

Social Media in 2018 ended up sounding like a cacophony of socially awkward competitively woke Millennials all calling each other out for not being subjectively outraged enough by each others hobby horse issues, but beyond them, there were some really dumb people.

The dumbest people of 2018 justified Trump’s insanity by insisting he was ‘staying true to his base’ because when your base is a grotesque cavalcade of cross burning white supremacist illiterates, that’s not a defence.

The dumbest people of 2018 were the ones who said, ‘Even though there was no real contamination, meth is still illegal’ as a justification for blowing $120million, throwing 2400 beneficiaries onto the streets and burning their property.

The dumbest people of 2018 were the ones who said, ‘But Santa was always white…’ and think that was any kind of contribution.

The dumbest claimed free speech was white male privilege.

The dumbest claimed being called a cis white male was an insult.

The dumbest needed to scream ‘all lives mattered’ when confronted by ‘black lives matter’.

The dumbest seemed to have more platform this year than the smartest.

    1. I’m not sure @Martyn was claiming that ” a grotesque cavalcade of cross burning white supremacist illiterates” comprised ALL of Trump’s support base.
      Even though he probably is one of those dirty filthy socialists, I’m sure he’d be prepared to concede there are the uber-intelligent, truly exceptional specimens such as yourself, or maybe a Huckabee-Sanders

  3. So I’m dumb because I don’t agree with your persistently all-out view on free speech. But are you so dedicated to absolute free speech? Prove it by publishing Dave Brownz latest blog on Reclaiming Marx which he tells me he has submitted. And post this too.

    1. You know, many, if not most democratic countries have already dealt with the “paradox of tolerance ” by limiting freedom of speech.

      Free speech is absolute, we get to say it before populists come to power. You will learn the lesson after the whole fuck-up is over.

  4. I don’t like Trump but I do think that Martyn calling Trump voters dumb is stupid. That’s the problem isn’t it? The news media has made Trump voters out to be stupid ‘deplorables’ and we all get sucked into that meme because MSM reports the ‘truth’. Well surely amongst the 50 million that voted for Trump there are many people who aren’t dumb. Voting for Clinton would have been dumb IMHO. However, the only alternative was Trump. Voters were pretty much between a rock and a hard place.

    Now Trump’s pulling US troops out of Syria and the so called ‘clever’ voters and media are going crazily negative. Now that’s dumb!

    1. The consensus was that there was a great white conspiracy actively colluding with, you guessed it, Russia. All because Hillary got sprung, then punished by sane voters.
