  1. Looking after people and caring about others, having empathy, providing opportunities and quality of life etc. – woke rubbish – DEI nonsense! The disabled need to learn how to make marmite sandwich and put an apple in a bag.

  2. The fact that there is only one comment so far, about this item, is also doing the disabled a disservice.
We’re all very noisy about the easy stuff, like school lunches but nothing from Zelda, or Btf, or even Trevor who has a little more sense than the first two.
Do you not want to express your disdain for disabled people, Zelda? Surely, they fit your definition of lazy and ungrateful. Or have you decided to be discreet and not comment on things you don’t understand, for a change.
I know if Btf reads this he’ll bite and say something erudite like, ‘How silly!’ or ‘Pathetic’.
I apologise to him if he’s disabled and spends all day looking at TDB because he’s house bound.

We never know when our lives will be overturned by an accident if we aren’t born disabled. Brain injuries are more common than cancer, says TV3 news. Brain injuries happen mainly to young people. Let’s be grateful that most of us aren’t affected by disability or long-term injury and show some compassion to those who aren’t so lucky.

  3. The definition of disabled is obviously very wide. 1 in 6 New Zealanders seems fatuous. Perhaps if the government concentrated on people who really need assistance there wouldn’t be a problem.
