  1. Right-wing commentator Brigitte Morten, a member of the National Party, asks in today’s Dompost article: Scott Morrison secretly expanded his ministerial powers. Would Jacinda Adern follow his example?’
Loaded and silly question; they are soooo NOT similar.
ScoMo’s a right-wing, conservative – NZPM is centre-left Labour; ScoMo’s was only in power in coalition – NZPM won a clear majority; ScoMo’s male, pale & stale – NZPM’ is not; SoMo stole the leadership from a colleague – NZPM was amicably bequeathed the leadership from a colleague; ScoMo’s a pentecostal Christian – NZPM’s not!; ScoMo’s an Oz – NZPM’s a proud NZer etc etc etc

    1. ? Are you claiming there is any difference between a ‘centre-left’ neoliberal and a ‘right’ neoliberal?

    2. /agreed !!!!
I’m not sure why the collective “we” – this ‘team’ of 5 million ‘crew’ pay these boffins so much attention.
Sometimes you have to wonder whether AI has more relevance in technology or with the self-appointed humanoid spurts.

    3. Yes I made some disparaging comments on the stuff site about Ms Morton’s article. As you would expect they were not published.
Right wing article allegedly about Morrison turned out to be an attack on PM of NZ.
Journos are no different to other conspiracy theorists.

  2. Great image Martyn. Brilliant – I wonder who finds these as it would take time to add to your writing. By the way I am going to make a small donation. As everybody else does I am sure. I paper my walls with round-to-its.

And this is amazing – and I thought it would only be the public that didn’t know but not even the Ministers knew. And those who were working with the PM plus – could they be charged with treason? Enemies of the state with a mentally-ill, maladjusted PM? How would they have been regarded if they became whistle-blowers? Is that why Oz doesn’t want to support our Julian A? Once you start doing right, Right-leaning people, then you would be expected to do it again, and even left-leaning people might agree with that sort of right.

Morrison became a stealth Minister by being secretly sworn in as the Minister for 5 different Ministries without the actual Minister’s knowledge.
In one case Morrison over rode the Minister to stop a controversial energy bill, in other cases he was secretly making decisions on his own.
It is such an odd decision by Morrison and is so glaring in its abuse of power, it’s difficult to fully appreciate…

The speed with which power in Australia could be immediately centralised with no oversight is breathtaking and a very clear reminder to us in NZ of how quickly the Australians are prepared to tie their Kangaroo down sport, the millisecond they are threatened.

Once the climate crisis burns Australia off the face of the planet, we will be swamped by Australians fleeing here. Note this is very likely, almost sure as they already own many of our strategic assets – the bounders!!!

  3. These anti-demicratic actions and decisions were made at the time of the global pandemic. The Prime Minister used his discretionary power to amass more power than he would have otherwise done, and executed the necessary directives to other Ministers in line with the best interests of the Australian people. If John Key was the Prime Minister of New Zealand during the pandemic and he’d done the same thing, he would be Knighted! Oh wait a minute, he was Knighted anyway, wasn’t he?

    1. Are you awake Ethan – you seem to be muttering. Perhaps you could present a small para when you wake up properly. In it you would give your considered opinions about the subject.
