  1. “Campers evacuated as heavy rain brings flooding fears”

Wild weather is barrelling across the North Island and is expected to cause serious surface flooding in some places.

Campers in the Thames-Coromandel district should consider moving to higher ground ahead of the expected heavy rain, the council says. The district is expected to bear the brunt of the bad weather with rain levels between 100 and 160 millimetres.

Some campers in the Thames Coromandel area have packed up ahead of the heavy rain.

At Te Puru Holiday Park 16 campers packed up yesterday to go home to avoid the floods.

    Where was summer??
