  4. The money given to Edgecumbe after the earthquake in 87′ should have been spent on Edgecumbe’s infrastructure – not Whakatane’s.
    It was a flood waiting to happen…

      Whakatanae has gotten all the funding since Nactional took over, as Anne Tolley has spent big there on business parks and roading through the region to get elected every term, while surrounding towns were starved of funds, and as MP for gisborne also she relocated to Whakatakae after Natz deliberately destroyed the rail infrastructure after robbing the regional Kiwirail maintanence funding for Auckland rail.

      Pork barrel politics is well alive under Nactional.
