  2. President Trump agrees to reopen the US government, but only for a period of three weeks, if he doesn’t get funding for his wall in that time, Donald Trump says he will close the government down again.

    Or…., declare a National Emergency.

    …..he hinted that he was still considering taking unilateral action if efforts to come up with money for his wall fail. “I have a very powerful alternative, but I didn’t want to use it at this time,” he said.

    Even for a President who admits he doesn’t read, the historical echoes of the enormity of taking this last step, can’t escape him.
