I was interested to learn that MSD and Corrections are deliberately dumping released prisoners into Rotorua.

They deny this, of course, but, if you make it a practice to requisition a bunch of motels in Rotorua so there’s always enough room for one guy who just got out of jail, while doing nothing for social housing across the entire country, what do you think is going to happen? “You can stay in prison longer, or go to Rotorua”… I wonder what the average bloke’s choice is going to be after a one year stint, let alone more?
