    Health Minister Brad Hazzard today told a NSW budget estimates hearing the BA2 sub-variant, thought to be more infectious than the BA1 lineage, was becoming the dominant Omicron offshoot.
    Hazzard said preliminary data from the University of NSW (UNSW) indicated cases could “more than double” within six weeks.,,
    Over in New Zealand, officials also confirmed they are seeing a growing proportion of BA2 variant cases in their ongoing Omicron outbreak, which today recorded 21,015 new community cases.

    This sub-variant is More infectious than present Omicron? Please keep Australians out of NZ for now, very special applications only. Otherwise we will get to the end of the high Omicron infections as at present, and then go through it all again with one from Oz. What is Queensland doing? They are trying to run a balanced
    ship I read.

    I notice they had new cases today 16,000 or such. We have 21,015 in NZ no doubt boosted by the protesters, and quite high in Nelson which I think started off from a family visit to Auckland, coming back to being a nice little pocket of spreaders. Thanks for that.
