  1. Onya Bomber and the rest of the TDB crew. Don’t always get to watch Wātea but the shows I’ve seen have, with only a couple of exceptions, been excellent. I’d love to see your entire project funded by subscriptions instead of advertising.

    Can I suggest an ambitious crowdfunding campaign, to raise your entire yearly expenses? One with finite goals and stretch goals that explain what you can do with a given amount of money? This has worked for both Scoop, here in Aotearoa, and Positive.News in the UK, so I can’t see why people wouldn’t get behind TDB in a campaign on PledgeMe or GiveaLittle.

    That way you could turn off all the corporate analytics software (install Privacy Badger into your web browser readers and see what I mean) that reports data on your readers to your advertisers so they can figure out how to sell you things. Remember folks, if you’re not the customer, you’re the product.
