  1. …then they reminded Jesus that adultery was punishable by stoning under Mosaic law and challenged him to judge the woman so that they might then accuse him of disobeying the law. Jesus thought for a moment and then replied, “He that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone at her.”

Regarding the earthquakes, God is free to exercise his providence (protective care) as he sees fit. Considering the low death tolls and earthquakes often revealing how unsafe some buildings actually are, I’d suggest God is exercising benevolence.

Granted, no earthquakes would be ideal. From a biblical perspective God does not force himself on people, but removes himself and his providential hand when pushed away. A strong biblical argument could be made that increased violence, selfishness, corruption, oppression of the poor, etc in society reduces God’s protective care quotient (supposing God measures/thinks in such terms).

Brian Tamaki would have as believe God has, not only removed his providence, but is actively punishing us. He forgets the whole ‘born again’ theme in the bible, aka the renewal of the mind – Jesus said ‘anyone who hates his brother is a murderer’. A hateful heart is as bad as an act of hate in God’s eyes.

As for homosexuality, I think Tamaki is on the whole Sodom and Gomorrah bent. The bible records these cities being destroy due to their lack of hospitality. A secular historian records that the people of Sodom locked visitors in cages hoisted above the city square, there they were starved for public amusement. Apparently violence and gang rape in these cities was everywhere.

I don’t think New Zealand society has broken down to anywhere near the level of Sodom and Gomorrah (which the bible says were destroyed), but I do think trash media and the glamorization of aberrant lifestyles/behaviors (alcoholism, extreme promiscuity, materialism, etc) is a form of Cultural Marxism and is to our detriment to heart of our citizens.

If I wasn’t such a proponent for freedom of religion I’d sign the petition to remove Destiny Church’s tax exempt status. It’s a slippy slope letting the State decide what is and isn’t a church though, so I won’t be signing.

  2. He and that benighted anti-semitic imam make a hell of a pair up there in S Auckland, wouldn’t you say?
