Just a few months ago Andrew Little was attacked by the government for questioning whether New Zealand actually needed so many chefs as part of the skilled migrant category.
The immigration scam that exists in the country is the one being run by the government and their capitalist mates to use and abuse migrant labour.
The real beneficiaries of this system of indentured labour are often the biggest companies in New Zealand. We know that all the hotel chains rely on temporary labour. SkyCity uses them extensively as do all the big fast food chains.
In the last six years, there have been on average 166,000 temporary work visas issued each year. These consist of people on working holidays, seasonal workers, essential skills workers and migrant family members.
The issues involved in the current debate over immigration policy are so important for the country that understanding it properly requires an in-depth look that I am attempting here in four parts. I will repeat some of what I have written before but will also provide the most up to date data available.
